Three hourslater and Hunter still didn’t know who this woman was.

Obviously, his brother knew her, or at least about her. He wasn’t sure. If he couldn’t find her, then he needed to figure out where Kyle had gone to track her. Just thinking his brother was tracking a criminal was insane. Realizing this for what it was, he had to push his brother for more information. They couldn’t stay in hiding forever. Hunter had booked them a suite at the Omni hotel. He’d hoped the kidnappers wouldn’t try again, in such a public place. But would that stop them?

Not according to the books I narrate.

Hunter found Kyle on his phone when he returned from the business center. He was always on his phone or the computer. His world truly would stop should the internet ever crash.

There were a lot of predators scouring the internet. Hunter wondered if his parents had talked to Kyle about the ugly underbelly of this world, especially the internet. Well, he was going to educate his brother.

“Put that down for a sec.”

Reluctantly, and extremely slowly, Kyle did as instructed.

“What now?” Kyle mumbled.

“What now? Really? You’re going to give me attitude after the night we just had? Drop the attitude. We could’ve been killed. Doesn’t that bother you?”

“We were never in any real danger.”

“Excuse me?”

“Yeah. I’ve been thinking about it, and those men were sent by GigaByte.”

“I thought that was pretty obvious when they told you to back down.”

“Right.”

Hunter waited for Kyle to continue, but when he didn’t, Hunter shook his head in disbelief. Was his brother so far removed from reality that an obvious threat didn’t frighten him?

“Don’t you see? GigaByte isn’t a killer.”

“Good to know. Then what is she?”

“A black hatter. She only steals… not hurt people.”

Trying to tamp down his anger, he breathed in a deep breath and let it exhale slowly before continuing.

“So, you were looking for a notorious internet thief. Well, I feel so much better,” Hunter said and wiped his forehead in mock gist.

“Now who’s being dramatic?”

Hunter stood and walked to the window. Were they being watched? Instead of trying to guess, he asked his brother.

“Do you think they’re still out there?”

“Nah. I turned off our GPS trackers and geo-tags. It’s unlikely they followed us when we left the gym.”

“I can’t tell you how much safer I feel,” Hunter mocked and threw his hands up in frustration. “Look, Kyle. I don’t know how you got involved in tracking this thief, but she has protectors and believes you pose a threat to her identity.”

Kyle’s expression revealed pure excitement and pride. “Really? You think so?” Kyle asked in awe and reverence.

“That’s not something to be proud of. Don’t forget… You are a threat.”

“I know. That’s cool. She knows who I am. Man, that’s unbelievable. I can’t wait to tell the team.”

“Team? What team?”
