Ivy seriously thought about Falcon’s question before answering.

“Eventually. It takes Byte a little longer than most to trust. There’s still a lot of moving parts to this job. I’m sure Seven has everything under control.”

“And Ghost?”

“Oh, there’s no one better to handle the BS the government can sling than Justin. Carter left on good terms with the CIA, so both of them are squeaky clean. I’m sure they’ve finished what they’d set out to do. Now it’s our time.”

Falcon was about to say something when he saw the back door open. Out stepped Voodoo, assisting a pretty inebriated man, and Aria doing the same.

“What did you use?”

“Just a little liquid courage,” Voodoo said as she handed the man over to Faulkner.

“Yeah and a few drops of some concoction,” Aria added as she accepted Voodoo’s assistance with her man.

“Will they wake up soon?” Falcon asked after he tossed the man into the trunk, then assisted Aria and Voodoo with their captive.

“Yeah, in about thirty minutes. Well after we’ve reached the warehouse,” Voodoo answered. She and Aria secured the men’s hands with one arm intertwining with the other to prevent them from breaking the zip ties.

The foursome drove the few minutes it took to one of their secured black sites and waited the additional twenty minutes for the men to awaken.

“There you are,” Ivy said.

“Who are you,” the man demanded.

“We aren’t important. What is important is whether you want to live?”

“Or if you want to,” the second man countered.

“Oh, I want to. So here’s what you’ll have to do. We want to meet your boss.”

“We don’t have a boss. We’re on our own.”

“If only that was true,” Ivy stated. “We tried your little clubhouse, but no one was there except for some well-used barflies. How do we reach el jefe?”

The first man chortled. “He won’t see you. Three women and a man.”

“It’s okay if he doesn’t see us as a threat. We just need to see him.”

“Why?” the second man asked.

“We have business to discuss.”

“What business?”

“We have a common threat. We want the ATF agent gone. Between your resources and ours, we can take her out,” Falcon stated.

One of the men spat on the floor at his mention of Rosemary.

“Our men are doing it right now. Her and the brat.”

“Yeah, sorry, but that didn’t happen. Our man inadvertently blocked your efforts, which is why we need to work together. Otherwise, we’re going to end up killing each other,” Ivy said.

The men seemed to be communicating between themselves before finally the first man instructed them to use his cell phone.

“Untie us.”

“Not until we have a meeting. If you play us, we’ll shoot you,” Ivy replied.
