“Whatever the alpha asks of me,” Fletch replied. “Right now, it’s about helping with the searches and making sure those rescued stay safe.”

“Mmm, the new prison,” Helen remembered.

“Prison?”

“Something Jemma said.”

Fletch snorted. “Sounds about right.”

“I like her. Muriel, too. I like everyone I’ve met so far.”

“Good.” He paused for a moment. “Do you think you could live here?”

“Yes, but I still want to check on my family as soon as I get the all clear from Jensen.”

“We will. I promise.”

“I need to find out what happened to them when I was taken. I need to find out where Hadley is.”

“I know, baby,” he assured her. “We’ll find out. We won’t stop looking until we do.”

How long would it take? How long could Fletch be away from the Holloway den to help her? What if Laramie wouldn’t allow it?

“Stop worrying,” Fletch ordered. “Whatever it is, we’ll deal with it. Together.”

He was right. Whatever challenges they faced in the future, she knew they’d face them together.

Chapter Thirteen

Fletch was in the study with his brother, Laramie, Koby, Holt, Slade and Brock when Matheus knocked on the door and poked his head inside.

“New group just arrived. One of them is asking if he can see the women we found or speak to someone about them. Sounds as if he’s looking for someone.”

“Where’s Jensen?” Laramie asked.

“He’s with Helen,” Fletch answered. “She wanted to help those recovering. I’m happy to go, though.”

“I’ll go with you,” Milo offered.

“We’ll all go,” Laramie stated, rising to his feet. “I don’t like having strangers showing up, asking questions about the women we’ve brought here to recover.”

“Some could be families who know we’re searching,” Holt suggested. “It’s natural they’d make their way here, eventually.”

“Koby, help Matheus make sure Em and the others stay in the house,” Laramie ordered.

Koby snorted. “I’ll do what I can.”

They all knew he was referring to Em and Jemma. Em wouldn’t do anything to put herself or Baby Bear in harm’s way, but Jemma was becoming more and more unpredictable.

“Brock,” Laramie began, but his brother cut him off.

“No.” Saying that, he turned and walked out.

Laramie growled as he watched. “He needs to open his damn eyes.”

“And claim the young woman who was held captive for five years then chased his older brother with the single-minded purpose of mating him?” Koby asked. “I’m sure he’ll get right on that.”

“Let’s go.”
