Then Judge, Hash, TK, and StoneFace rush in behind them, guns in their hands, but pointed down.

Two men I don’t know approach the bed, but I don’t have time to reach my gun. They’re on me before I can blink, yanking me from the bed and away from Boo.

I fight back, my fists and legs flying. I manage to get in a couple of good hits before two other men move forward and grab me.

“Priest,” Judge snaps. “Chill.”

Easy for him to say. His room wasn’t just invaded in the middle of an intimate fucking moment. He also has a gun in his hand, I don’t.

“What the fuck is going on?” I seethe.

Boo is on the bed, the blankets pulled up under her chin, her terror filled gaze darting around the room.

“Put some fucking clothes on,” the man with the gun aimed at Burnt snarls. Boo doesn’t move, so he bends forward, grabs her discarded T-shirt, and tosses it at her. “Now!”

I struggle, desperate to get to her, to protect her from these men, but I don’t even know who they are.

“Let’s all just relax,” Judge barks out, his hands going up, attempting to ease the tension. “This is a misunderstanding, so let’s all just put our guns away and talk this through like men.”

“A misunderstanding?” the man roars. “I come in here to find this big fucker with her naked in his bed, and that’s some kind of misunderstanding?”

“Fuck you,” I roar, struggling, wanting nothing more than to rip into him.

A fist lands in my gut and I double over, the air knocked from my lungs.

“Let’s just talk this through,” Judge tries again.

The man releases his hold on Burnt and moves toward the bed. I fight like hell to stop him, but I can’t shake the four men holding me back. “I won’t say it again. Put some fucking clothes on.”

I expect her to show fear, but now she just looks angry. Grabbing the shirt, she slips it over her head and releases the blankets from around her. Once she’s covered, she stands, her head barely coming to the strange man’s shoulder. I can see she’s about to lose it.

“Look, asshole. I don’t know who you are, or who the hell you think you’re talking to, but I’m sick and fucking tired of men thinking they can order me around like a dog. Either put the guns away or fucking shoot me, but I am over this macho bullshit.”

The man’s eyes grow wide, and then slowly, a smirk forms at the corner of his mouth. “Oh, yeah.” Tucking the gun into the holster hooked to his belt, he backs away, stating, “You’re definitely my sister.”

Boo assesses him while crossing her arms over her chest. “Well if I’m your sister, you’re not making a very good first impression.”

BOO

Fiery anger coursesthrough my veins, settling low in my belly. I’m tired of being a victim. I'm tired of just standing by and complying. Not this time. I don’t care who he is. Never fucking again.

Priest struggles against his captors as the man who claims to be my brother tips his head back and laughs. “And you in a bed with a man’s face between your legs is a good first impression?”

“Let him go,” I order, nodding at Priest. “And put the guns away.”

“Like hell,” the man chuckles sarcastically. “These fuckers have been keeping you from me long enough, and they’re going to be dealt with.”

“Keeping me from you?” I challenge incredulously. “They just told me about you tonight. I didn’t even know you existed. Hell, I don’t even know your name.” Closing my eyes, I take a calming breath and open them again. “Now let him go, and put those guns away. They scare me, and there’s no need for them.”

The man’s confused gaze stays trained on me, assessing my words. He then looks over at Judge. “How long have you had my sister?”

Judge lifts his hands high, showing the gun still in his hand, then makes a show of tucking it into the waistband of his pants. “Five days,” he replies. “We just found out who you were today. Our buddy tried to get a message to you.”

Nobody moves as he processes this information. After a moment, he looks back at me. “These men holding you hostage?”

I glare at him. “These men saved me. And I’m not answering any more of your questions until you put the guns away and let him go.”

“We didn’t take her,” Priest growls, his face twisted in anger.
