"Three months."

"You and Lizzie are going to have babies at the same time. Why didn't you say anything?"

"I just wanted to wait a little. And we're having a boy. We were going to tell everyone at brunch."

"I wanted to tell you all for the last two months," Zach said.

"But I wanted to wait until I was past the first trimester," Gianna said. "We haven't told Hailey yet, but we're going to do that tonight."

"I won't say a word to anyone until you announce it."

"Congratulations," Joel said.

"Great news," Decker added.

"I think the hunt is starting," Zach said. "Why don't we get closer?"

As the five of them moved to the edge of the park where the kids would be hunting, Joel's phone rang.

He pulled it out of his pocket and winced. "Sorry, I have to take this call, Chloe. I'll be right back."

"Is everything all right?"

"It's just business."

She frowned as he moved away from them, catching an odd gleam in Decker's gaze. She ignored that, turning toward the park where Leo had taken off on a sprint to get a bright orange egg. Thankfully, the hunt for the little kids had plenty of eggs that were in plain sight and when the whistle sounded, Leo came back with four plastic eggs in his basket, each one holding candies inside.

"I got a lot of eggs," Leo said proudly.

She smiled at his excitement. "You did a great job."

"Hailey helped me."

"Can Leo go to the park with me?" Hailey asked. "I'll watch him really closely."

"Uh," she hesitated. There were a lot of people around, and Hailey was only eleven.

"I'll keep an eye on them," Zach said. "Why don't you join me, Decker? I'd like to hear more about your construction business."

She felt immediate relief as Zach and Decker walked toward the playground, not just because Leo had two more adults looking out for him, but because Decker was also gone.

Turning to Gianna, she said, "So you're going to have a baby. How do you feel?"

"Thrilled. Zach and I have been trying for a while. I was getting nervous. That's why I didn't want to tell anyone until I was really sure."

"That's understandable. Any morning sickness?"

"A few queasy stomach mornings, but nothing beyond that."

"I'm so happy for you. Hailey will make a great big sister. She'll be very helpful to you."

"She loves little kids." Gianna paused, giving her an odd look. "I love being a stepmother. You know that, right?"

"Of course."

"But I am excited to have a child of my own."

"That's completely understandable."
