"It will be Zach's first biological child, too," Gianna continued. "He's concerned that Hailey will feel like an outsider, because she doesn’t have our blood ties the way this baby will."

She immediately shook her head. "That won't happen. Zach and Hailey adore each other, and the three of you are a family. Even Hailey's grandparents accept that," she added, knowing that Hailey's grandparents had fought Zach for a while about giving him custody after their daughter had died. "A new baby will just mean more love for everyone."

Gianna smiled. "Thanks for the reassurance."

"It's going to be great, Gianna. And I'm excited to have more moms to hang out with," she added.

"You do such a good job with Leo. I can't imagine how difficult it is to do it by yourself."

"I have a lot of help."

"Not that much," Gianna said with a knowing gleam in her eyes. "You always downplay how much you have to do, but we can all see it, and we admire you immensely."

"Thanks."

"Hopefully, now you'll have more help."

"Now?" she asked in confusion.

"Joel," Gianna said. "The guy you were just holding hands with. Where did he go, anyway?"

"He had to take a phone call," she said, her gaze moving toward the edge of the trees where Joel was still conversing on the phone. "He has a lot of business going on right now."

"But things are still good between you?"

"Um, yes."

Gianna arched an eyebrow. "That didn't sound very convincing."

"We've been a little out of sync lately," she admitted. "Like I said, Joel has been busy."

"I hope that doesn't last too long. You deserve someone who's willing to give you his undivided attention."

"I'm not sure there's a man alive who would do that," she said, feeling cynical about love.

"There definitely is," Gianna argued. "Zach is busy, but when he's with me, with Hailey, he is committed to the moment."

"You're lucky. Kevin could never do that. Even when he was with me and Leo, he was never all the way there, at least not the last couple of years." She cleared her throat. "Anyway, I'm so happy for you and Zach."

"Thanks. I want you to be happy, too."

"I am happy." She held up the Easter egg basket. "My son found four eggs. It's a good day."

Gianna gave her a sly look. "Does having Decker around also make it a good day? He's a very attractive man."

"Decker is only here for a few months. Plus, he's Joel's friend. And he's going to work for me. So, whatever ideas people have, they need to get rid of them."

"Got it," Gianna said.

Joel came back, apology in his eyes. "I'm so sorry, Chloe. I didn't realize that would take as long as it did. It looks like Leo found some eggs."

"Yes," she said. "He's at the park with Gianna's daughter Hailey."

"Having fun, I'm sure," Joel said with a smile. "Leo is one of the happiest kids I've ever met. That's a credit to you, Chloe."

"I try."

"I'm going to go check on everyone," Gianna said, as she excused herself.
