“Oh my god, your ego is immense. How do you fit your head through a door? I’m not the person you thought I was if I don’t forgive you? Well, guess what, you’re not the man I believed you to be! And I don’t like you. Seriously, I may stupidly be sexually attracted to you, but I’ve got more respect than to go to bed with someone who calls me a cunt!” I shrieked.

Jett gazed at me for a few seconds and stormed out. Annoyed, I turned around and saw Zoe, Henry, and several customers standing there open-mouthed.

“You get this floor show every day?” a woman asked Zoe, who shook her head vigorously.

“Don’t think so.”

“Well, you just got yourself a regular customer, honey, and you go, girl! Don’t let any man treat you like you’re a piece of shit!” She grinned and wandered away.

I stormed downstairs and locked myself in the Vault. Damn Jett, I was furious, beyond furious, and I’d never felt so alive. The blood was pumping through my veins, and I felt like I could pull my hair out in temper.

I was silently shocked at myself. Dear Lord, I always had rigid control and rarely lost my temper until Saturday night. Yes, I stood up for myself if I was pushed, but screaming and shouting? What was Jett doing to me?

Jett stormed towards the door of the Reading Nook and caught sight of Manny standing near it, smirking. Jett glared at the brother, who laughed and fell into step with him. Long strides marched furiously across the street to the forecourt, and Jett slammed into one of the bays. Drake looked up, startled, as Jett kicked the wall.

“Sin ripped him a new one,” Manny said, still grinning.

Jett spun and scowled.

“Fucked up twice now, son.” Drake wasn’t asking a question.

“Told you not to let her stew. Sin’s stewed all right,” Manny added with laughter in his voice.

“Sin’s done. I’m finished with her,” Jett snarled.

Manny tilted his head and looked at Drake. “Well, if you’re done, you got no problem if I make a move, brother.”

The last word barely left Manny’s mouth when Jett spun, grabbed Manny’s thermal, and slammed him against a car. Jett pushed into Manny’s face.

“You don’t touch Sin,” Jett growled.

Manny shoved Jett back and straightened his tee, laughing.

“Yeah, you ain’t done.” Manny laughed. Jett threw a punch into the wall and stormed out. Minutes later, his bike flew out of the forecourt.

“That’s a man who needs to get laid.” Manny smirked at Drake, who shook his head.

“Playing with fire, brother,” Drake said with a grin.

“Sin called him a twatwaffle!” Manny roared with laughter, and Drake joined in.

“Numpty, twatwaffle. Girl’s got an inventive mouth,” Drake said, grinning.

“Gonna stoke a fire.” Manny smiled.

“Yeah, our dumb prospect gets his head out of his ass, worth it. Sin is Jett’s one. Be nice for a normal ‘one.’”

“Girl won’t know what’ll hit her when Jett wises up,” Drake mused.

“Going to warn her to buckle up?” Manny asked curiously.

“Why the fuck would I do that? Jett’s gonna twist himself in knots over her. Be fun, as you said. Sin will run him ragged, and then Jett’ll pin her down, so I’m thinking the girl’s worth the effort.”

“You romantic shithead, you’re matchmaking,” Manny said, surprised.

Drake smiled at him.
