“Yeah,” Drake answered bluntly. There was no way to sugar-coat Sin’s attack.

“Sin alive?” Jett hissed at Drake, and Drake nodded. “Let me the fuck go!” Jett dragged Ace, Ezra, and Lowrider forward a step.

“Not until you got a grip on your emotions,” Drake stated firmly. Jett’s head snapped towards him, and rage shot out of his eyes. Drake met Jett glare for glare.

“Let me the fuck go,” Jett spat every word at Drake.

“Not until you have a fuckin’ lock on it,” Drake snarled. “Sin doesn’t need this.” Drake pointed at Jett’s heaving chest.

“Sin needs me.”

“Girl, don’t want your anger, hear me?” Drake got in Jett’s face, and Jett growled.

“Get out of my way, brother.” The argument became moot when the ambulance pulled off, sirens blaring. A police officer approached the men warily.

“You know her?” he asked.

“Sin’s mine,” Jett snarled. “Where is she going?”

“RC Regional,” the cop answered, observing Jett cautiously.

“Let me go,” Jett hollered at those holding him. Drake, looking in his face, nodded as he realised Jett finally had a loose hold on himself. The minute Jett was free, he was across the street and on the back of his bike. Rock and Ezra were behind him.

“Drake,” a voice said.

Drake turned to Detective Antonio Ramirez and his partner, Eric Benjamin, known as Ben.

“Ramirez, Ben,” Drake acknowledged.

“You know the victim?”

“It’s Sinclair Montgomery?” Drake asked and got the confirmation. “She’s Jett’s.”

“Ms Montgomery’s in a bad way, nasty assault. May need more than Rock and Ezra with Jett,” Ben said.

Drake looked over his shoulder as Lex, Ace, Texas, and Gunner peeled out of the clubhouse. Drake turned back to the cops.

“The witness saw her being attacked and hurried over to help. Ms Montgomery was fighting the assailant, her clothes ripped. Guy says she was raped, but we’re not sure yet. The hospital will run tests.” Ben gave it to Drake straight.

Phoe gasped, and Silvie moved closer and wrapped her arms around Phoe.

“Let’s go,” Phoe demanded, looking wide-eyed at Drake. Drake looked at Ramirez.

“Anything else?”

“Know anyone called Marshall? That’s the name Ms Montgomery told us before passing out,” Ramirez asked.

Drake and everyone shook their heads.

“Keep me updated,” Drake requested, and Ben cocked an eyebrow at Drake’s order. Benjamin wasn’t close to the MC like Ramirez was, and he didn’t take orders from Drake. Ramirez just shot them a look and turned his back on them. Drake grabbed Phoe’s hand and dragged her toward his Dyna Glide.

“Slate, Blaze, the bar,” Drake ordered the prospects who shifted their asses. Drake kicked his bike stand and peeled out in the hospital’s direction.

Shit wasn’t good when Drake arrived. Jett was towering over everyone in the waiting room, and the vibes coming off Jett were dark and dangerous. Rock and Hunter stood on either side of him. Ace remained in front of Jett, containing him and his volatile temper. Texas and Lex were at the nurse’s station, trying to get information. Everybody else was giving the huddle surrounding Jett a wide berth. Drake strolled over and checked on his prospect, and seeing Jett still had a grip, Drake walked across to Texas.

Texas gave Drake a chin lift. “Won’t tell us shit except Sinclair’s in theatre. Doc Gibbons on his way, Jett called him.”

Drake thanked Christ that one of his brothers had wits about him. Drake picked up the vibes coming off the men surrounding Jett. They were pissed and wore a burning need for blood. They fed Jett’s temper as well as Drake’s own.
