“We’ll get her back,” she says into my shirt.

“Lucky for you, I know you’re in love with someone else.”

Harlow and I break apart and face Malachi. “And you know I love you,” she says to him.

“I know,bella.”

A fist of jealousy wraps around my heart. Fuck, I need Peppermint.

“Any news from Coast?” I ask.

“His entire club is out searching. Fiona and a few of the others are with them. They’ll call if they find anything.”

“Right.”

“Hey, Harlow?”

We all turn to Story.

“Did you find her?” Harlow asks.

“No but come look at this.” Harlow moves to stand behind Story and look over her shoulder. “Does that look familiar?”

“Yeah.” She shakes her head. “But I don’t know why. Put it up for the guys to see.”

With a few clicks of her mouse, Story has her laptop screen projected onto the wall.

“It’s the old warehouse.”

“What warehouse?” Harlow asks.

“Back before the beef between our families, my father procured two warehouses,” Malachi begins. “One of them was destroyed after your mom was killed. But this one…”

“It’s sat empty and unused since then,” I add.

“Are they identical?” Story asks.

“Yeah. The same company owned them before going bankrupt. That’s when the Ricci’s bought them.”

“Okay, so that explains why it looks familiar,” Story says absently. “It matches the building where Velvet was killed, and we have all of the schematics in our club records. I must have seen it when I started digitizing everything and it stuck in my mind for some reason.”

“Could he have taken Peppermint there?” Harlow asks.

I look at Malachi and he nods. Good, we’re both on the same page.

“Yeah,” I tell them. “After we took out the Family last year, Malachi and I sold the building. Some corporation bought it. Said they were going to demolish it and build condos or something.”

“And you didn’t dig into the corporation’s background?”

“Not too much. Everything was on the up and up.”

“We both just wanted rid of it,” Malachi says.

“Well, the building sold again, about two months later. It’s now owned by another corporation. Which isn’t a corporation at all, but shell company after shell company after shell company.” Story pulls up another tab. “The man in the center of it all? Craig Moore. Only Nico, you were Craig Moore, so it stands to reason that it’s Nicholi.”

“Son of a bitch!”

“Story, can you see if any modifications have been made since he bought it?”
