Apparently, either can he.

“Tell me you’re mine,” he grunts, muscles strained, chest heaving.

“I’m yours.” The words fall so easily from my lips. And not just because I know he wants my reassurance. But I truly feel like I am his. Body. Mind. Soul. This man possesses every last part of me.

“Tell me this pussy is mine.”

I close my eyes, leaning my head back as he propels me higher and higher with every punishing thrust.

“My pussy is yours.”

“Damn straight it is.”

When he clamps onto my neck, I fight back a scream. Between his teeth on me and his cock pistoning inside me, I’m powerless, my orgasm seizing me mere seconds before he also succumbs to his own bliss.

Panting heavily, he brings his mouth to mine, kissing me so tenderly it almost makes me cry. It’s one of the things I’ve grown to crave. How he can be in control and dominant one minute, then so tender and compassionate the next. It satisfies my desire to be cherished, but also my need to surrender to him, even temporarily.

“I couldn’t wait until tonight,” he explains breathlessly. “Probably not the smartest idea to screw you in the bathroom of a restaurant where my brother’s currently sitting.”

A chorus of oohs and ahs sound, the guests responding to yet another gift being opened.

“Sounds like they’re all distracted.”

He runs a hand over his face, a wariness about him I haven’t noticed before.

Is he having the same reservations?

Given everything I know about Creed, how pragmatic and sensible he is, I imagine he’s also sensed Adam’s scrutiny. Feels the weight of it crushing him.

“I hope so.”

He kisses my nose, then grabs a few tissues, using them to clean me up before helping me to my feet. He swipes my panties off the tiled floor, but instead of handing them to me, he shoves them into his pocket, winking.

“I’ll give them back later.”

This is the perfect opportunity to tell him I don’t think I should go over his place. As always seems to be the case, I can’t find the words I need. Not if it means depriving myself of the one thing I’ve come to crave.

“Fiend,” I remark playfully.

“Only for you.” He holds my face as he lowers his lips to mine. “Always for you.”

My heart squeezes.

Since my birthday, some of the things he’s said have become more affectionate. More romantic. More…loving. I try to convince myself it’s the post-sex glow that has him uttering these sweet words, but I know that’s not the reason. I’m not sure what to do with that.

Not anymore.

Not with our expiration date looming in the near future.

“You leave first,” I tell him to avoid facing the reality of his feelings.

And mine.

“I’ll follow shortly.”

He brushes a soft kiss against my temple. “Okay.” He cracks open the door, making sure the hallway is clear, and slips outside.

Once the door shuts behind him, I exhale a deep breath before checking my reflection in the mirror. As luck would have it, Creed left a few marks on my neck. They’re not too obvious, but enough that someone might notice.
