Hell, I didn’t want anyone to know.

But that was when I thought this would be a one-time thing.

That we’d be mature about it. That we could forget about it.

Instead, whenever I’m near Creed, I succumb to my baser instincts, desperate for him to make me feel good one more time.

I truly am an addict.

I could feign ignorance. Tell Marius he’s blowing it out of proportion. But after riding this wild seesaw of emotions these past few weeks, I need to talk to someone about this. Someone who understands how this world works and can give me advice.

Inhaling deeply, I square my shoulders. “Yes. Me and Creed.”

“Did you?” Marius arches a single brow.

I nod. “We did. A week ago. I took your advice and asked him to help me take care of my little problem. It was just supposed to be one night. But then…”

“Yes?” Harriet prods as she and Marius lean closer, eyes focused.

“Well, yesterday was the first time we saw each other since that night.”

“Hence the giant dick-waving contest when Creed arrived,” Marius states in realization.

“I might be wrong, but I have a feeling Creed Lawson would win any dick waving contest by a mile,” Harriet jabs, sipping her drink. “Or at least a few inches.” She waggles her brows. “Am I right?”

“I don’t have anyone to compare him to.” Heat crosses my brow. “But I can tell you it is impressive.”

“Can we not do this?” Marius winces, squeezing his eyes shut. “I’m happy to listen to your guy problems, offer the male perspective, but I’d rather not sit here while you two talk about his dick. Okay? Pretty sure it’ll only make me feel even more inadequate in comparison.”

“I’m sure you’re quite adequate, Marius,” I say, feeling relaxed for the first time since I arrived here.

“Great. That’s exactly what every guy wants to hear. That they’re adequate.”

Harriet and I both throw our heads back and laugh as Marius pretends to be indignant. He knows it’s all in good fun, though.

“Don’t pout, Mari,” I tease. “But if it makes you feel better, I’ll endeavor to refrain from making any remarks about his gigantic dick.”

Marius groans, then winks, his expression lightening.

“So what happened when you went to talk to him yesterday?” Harriet presses.

Heat prickles my skin, and not from the brilliant sun beating down on us, only a few clouds in the sky on a perfect summer day. Instead, it’s from the memory of walking into Creed’s room.

“I’d planned to bring up the awkwardness between us.” I raise my glass to my lips and take another long sip. “Before we slept together, I’d specifically told him I didn’t want any of that.”

Harriet bursts out laughing. “Trust me, Ezzy. The second you sleep with someone, there’s always going to be an inherent tension between you.”

“I figured since we were pretty close before he left for the military, we’d be able to compartmentalize it. Obviously, I was wrong.”

My gaze falls over Creed’s body and I salivate at the sight of his rippling muscles. I could watch him for hours and never tire of the way he looks. The way he makes any sort of physical exertion seem effortless.

The way he made sex seem effortless.

Pushing down the memory, I snap my eyes back to my friends, who both smirk at me.

“When I walked into his room, I didn’t see him, but the door to the balcony was open, so I figured he was out there. Then I heard someone call my name from the bathroom. But it wasn’t really calling.” I chew on my bottom lip. “It was more like…moaning.”

Marius’ jaw drops, eyes wide. “He wasn’t.”
