“Open your eyes, angel.” His words caught me off guard, causing me to open them. “Keep them on me, okay?” I nodded, staring up at him as he reached to the back of his neck and pulled his T-shirt off with one quick swipe.

My gaze refused to stay on his face as it traced the edges of his muscles, dipping into the contours of his abs, and then finally stumbled upon his hand that was undoing the button on his jeans. I moaned, unable to stop myself as he undid his zipper, only leaving it done up halfway.

“Don’t ever close your eyes when you’re with me, Bailey.” I nodded, agreeing with him, watching as he crouched down at the bottom of the bed. His arms extended out, grabbing me behind the knees, and snatching me to the edge of the bed. “I want you to watch everything I do.” He sighed as he breathed in, opening my legs wider. “I’ve been dying to do this to you.”

“Do what—” My words were stolen from me as he dipped between my legs, flattening his tongue and swiping it between my folds. “Oh, fuck.”

He hummed, and the vibration from it hit me in the exact right place, eliciting a moan from me. He flicked the tip of his tongue against my bundle of nerves, going so fast that my legs were shaking, and then he switched it, holding my ass in his hands and lifting me up.

“You taste fuckin’ divine,” he growled, glancing up at me, then taking one long swipe again, and again, and again, lapping up all of my juices like it was the only thing keeping him alive.

It was all too much but not enough at the same time. “Romeo,” I gasped out. “I…I…”

His large hand pressed against the bottom of my stomach, holding me down while he went to town on me, and all the while, his gaze was fixed to mine, not looking away for a single beat. The combination was too much to take, too much for my body to handle.

“Romeo I…oh God.” My hand weaved through his hair, pulling at it as a burn started low in my stomach, searing around my back, and making my hips thrust upward.

“That’s it, angel, ride my face.” His teeth grazed against my clit, shocking me. “Fuckin’ ride me.” He lifted up, keeping his face between my legs, but expertly flipped us so that I was literally sitting on his face.

My orgasm was threatening to rip me apart, causing me to do things that I never would have even thought of doing.

I glanced down at him, only able to see his eyes between my legs, then rolled my hips, feeling his tongue slide against me in the most delicious way. This felt…it was…fuck, it wastoogood. After everything my body had been put through, this…this almost made it all worth it.

“I’m close,” I gasped out, moving my hips faster, taking everything I wanted from him. But it was only seconds until Romeo was flipping us back over, coming up on his knees on the bed, and not moving his head from between my legs. “More,” I demanded—begged.

He stared down at me, his eyes so dark I could practically see my reflection in them. I spread my arms out on the bed, trying to be a counterbalance because he held me nearly entirely off it so that he could lap me up like I was the last drop of liquid in a desert.

Then he sucked my clit, hollowing out his cheeks while flicking the tip of his tongue against the nerves.

“Yes!” I screamed out, fisting the sheets in my hands as the orgasm ripped through me, tearing me apart while putting me back together again all at the same time. “Fuck.” I drew out the word, my hips thrusting an erratic rhythm as the orgasm slowly—oh so slowly—ebbed away, leaving me even hornier than I already was.

It wasn’t about making the memories disappear anymore. No. This was about me and Romeo. This was about figuring out exactly what we were—or weren’t.

ROMEO

“He’s still at the club,” my father said, sitting opposite me in Lorenzo’s office. “He hasn’t left there for two days now.”

“How do you know he’s still there, then?” Lorenzo asked him.

I raised a brow, wondering the same thing. My father had decided that he was going to be the one to follow Gio, only switching off with someone he trusted, which meant it was only ever one of the men in this room. More often than not it was Mateo who swapped places with him.

Since I hadn’t been to the club after getting Bailey out of there, we knew we needed to have close eyes on him. We were still taking him down—still intent on eradicating him and his seedy business deals—but we had to do it differently now.

Glancing over at Raf who was standing behind our dad, I watched for his reaction to what was being said around him. He wanted to be the one to keep close tabs on Gio with our father, but instead I’d tasked him with guarding Bailey when I wasn’t home. A fact that reminded me she was at home alone right now. It didn’t matter that I had a top-of-the-line security system in place, it still wasn’t as good as a physical presence watching over her.

Thinking of her had my finger trailing over my bottom lip, remembering how Bailey’s pussy had felt against them last night. I ground my teeth together to try and keep myself in check, but it was damn hard when I could still taste her on my tongue. Shuffling on the seat, I had to readjust myself. Now was the worst time to be thinking about Bailey with her legs wide open and my face between them, but dammit, I couldn’t help it.

She’d wanted to do more—to take things further—but I didn’t think she was ready. Or maybe it was me who wasn’t ready for that—for her, in that way. I was trying to protect her, no matter how much she told me I didn’t need to. It just…it didn’t feel right taking that from her again. She was being forced to stay with me until Gio was completely out of the picture, but in reality, if she wanted to walk out of my house and turn her back on all of this—on me—then she could without a second thought.

She hadn’t though. She’d stayed. That had to mean something, right?

“He keeps coming outside to take a phone call, smoke a cigarette, then goes back inside again. He’s on edge. Something is going down.” Dad paused. “Romeo?” I flicked my attention to him, acting like I’d been listening to him the entire time and not been thinking about Bailey. “You need to make contact soon otherwise he’ll get even more suspicious.”

I nodded. “I will. He’s keeping tabs on me at the moment. They were there when I left this morning and they followed me here.” I ground my teeth as I thought about the van quite clearly following me. The only saving grace was that they didn’t stay at the house where Bailey was all alone.

“Good.” Lorenzo stood, silently ending the meeting. “Romeo, make contact. Keep me informed every step of the way.” He tilted his head, pushing his point home, to which I nodded. I knew not to take a leap without him knowing now. At least, I knew I shouldn’t, but when it came to Bailey, even I wasn’t stupid enough to deny that she flicked a switch I’d never even known was there and I became someone else entirely when she was at risk.
