“Go on, then,” Kiernan murmured before kissing the side of my neck. “Ask your question.”

The small action shouldn’t have affected me the way it did, but a frisson of awareness spread through my body like a live wire. I’d never felt anything like it before. Drew was the only man I’d ever been with. Not that I had much choice. We’d been promised to one another since I was sixteen. I’d never been allowed to date or go out to the movies with my friends growing up. There were no parties or keggers. Even at college, I simply went from one prison to the next. Drew was more lenient when it came to my comings and goings, even going as far as to let me study and practice journalism.

Now I knew why.

I loved being a reporter. It was the one thing that was truly mine. Drew had wanted to branch out from under his father’s thumb. He wanted to earn his keep, and I accepted that. I respected that. He’d only ever treated me with love and kindness. Never forcing me to do something I wasn’t comfortable with.

When it came to sex, Drew was more vanilla than an ice cream cone. I’d thought he’d come to love me and that we could have a sliver of bliss together, despite our arranged marriage.

How wrong I’d been.

So very wrong.

The excitement these two men managed to elicit from my body was nothing like I’d ever felt. The orgasm they had given me this morning was far beyond anything Drew had ever managed to do. Drew rarely did foreplay and even on the rare occasions he did, the way these men played me like a well-tuned guitar made what Drew did amateur hour. The Irish god had plucked at my strings until I was singing how he wanted me to.

“Well?”

Heat crept up my neck as I pulled myself from my thoughts of this morning. Seamus stared down at me with a knowing smile on his lips. Shaking it off, I took a long breath.

“What can you tell me about the explosion at the Ward stables?”

Please don’t be involved.

Please don’t be involved.

“What do you mean?” Seamus asked.

“In the alley, you said your father warned you that I was looking into it,” I told him. “Why did he feel the need to warn you?”

Kiernan huffed a laugh. “Why should we tell you?”

“You said I had six questions,” I reminded him petulantly.

“True,” he mused. “I never said we had to answer them.”

“Are you fucking kidding me?” I growled as I pushed back against his chest to get free. “I’m not going to be doing anything unless you—what the hell?” I squealed. Like actually squealed when Kiernan’s hand came down to smack my mound. My vaginal walls contracted as the sharp sting radiated through me.

When had my hussy side decided to join a whorehouse?

“Did you just—” He didn’t give me a chance to finish the sentence before his hand came down again. I hissed, my back arching against his chest as a wave of pain-tinged pleasure washed over me. My thighs clenched automatically, but Kiernan’s legs had mine locked with his.

I was open.

Vulnerable.

Exposed.

And I’d never been wetter.

“She liked that, brother,” Seamus purred, his eyes darkening, taking in the sight of my aroused pussy. “Give her a reward.” Kiernan sighed dramatically.

“I can’t tell you everything,” Kiernan began with a long sigh. “It isn’t my story to tell. Ava, our sister you met downstairs, was taken by Christian Ward just as she left her wedding. He’d been holding her at the stables. We rescued her and the women there before blowing it to smithereens.”

“Good riddance,” Seamus snarled.

“And you’re sure there weren’t any women there named Lina?”
