Page 97 of Stolen Obsession

Our family was different from most when it came to women. They weren’t just figures to be brought out for social events and then put on a shelf to get dusty until they were needed again. The women in our family were integral parts of our business and our community. Bailey knew this. We just needed to be sure she understood it.

“I don’t want you to change,” she whispered after a beat of silence. “I never want you to change.”

And that was all we needed to hear.

Love.

They loved me. My eyes widened slightly as I stared at the two of them, searching their faces for any sign of deception. I didn’t find any.

“We love you,” Seamus reiterated. He was making sure I understood how deep his words were. They weren’t superficial. They were bone deep and cutting. “We’re not sure when it happened, just that the minute we realized you were gone, we wanted nothing more than to get you back.”

“You’re everywhere,” Kiernan whispered, stepping toward me, his hand threading through my hair. “An itch we can’t scratch. An obsession we never intend to get over. Every moment of every day, you’re our first thought when we wake and the last when we go to sleep.”

Well, shit, a girl could get used to this. Hussy was cartwheeling herself around in my mind, and even my inner cynic had taken up pom-poms and was waving them around like a cheerleader at the Super Bowl.

Since the night I returned, they hadn’t touched me. Hadn’t pushed or prodded for more. They knew I needed healing and to wrap my head around the convoluted mess that had become my life. The woman I thought to be my best friend had betrayed me. My belief about my mother being some crack addict had been nothing more than a fabricated lie. My whole life had been a lie.

Then there were these two dumb fucks.

I’d trusted them to protect me, and they’d given me away like a party favor. Kiernan had uttered cruel words that had pierced the very heart I’d given him without knowing it. It hadn’t been love at first sight, but I’d steadily grown to trust them. With every kiss, every touch, every whisper, they’d endeared themselves to me.

Then fucked it all up.

These men wouldn’t grovel or plead for me to forgive them. It wasn’t who they were, and I wouldn’t want them to. But the primal, lust-filled looks in their eyes told me they had ways to make me forgive them, and I wasn’t about to stop them from doing exactly that.

“I love you both too.” My teeth bit into my lower lip shyly. I’d never uttered those words to anyone before. “But if you think saying that is going to make me forgive you, then you are way off base. I want something more.”

Seamus and Kiernan smirked, mischievous glints lighting up the gold flecks in their emerald eyes. “And what is that you were thinking, wildcat?”

Licking my lips, I dragged my hungry gaze down their bodies, eyeing them like a wolf eyed its prey.

“Orgasms.”

There was a mild pause between them, just long enough for my words to sink in, and then Kiernan acted. Throwing restraint out the window, he surged forward, drawing me into his body, and kissed me with more passion than I’d ever dreamed of knowing.

His lips on mine caused my head to spin. Kiernan had always been the reserved one. The brother who calculated risk before reward. But there were bolts of intensity lingering beneath the surface that sent shock waves racing through my body. My desire surged to dizzying heights as he plundered my mouth, pouring every single ounce of his apology into his kiss.

A soft moan escaped me, and his tongue stopped exploring to graze across my lips before he delved deeper, hungry and desperate and searching for more. Kiernan lifted his hands to run his fingers through my hair, and I clung tight to him when my knees shook beneath me. I really was screwed. He’d always held back when he kissed me, but this, this was something more, and I loved every bit of the reeling, quivering blob of hormonal jelly I had become in his arms.

Kiernan’s kisses moved from my mouth to my neck, and I moaned at the delicious sensation, my hands weaving in his soft ginger hair to pull him closer. My eyes were open, peering at Seamus, who watched the two of us in silence for a few beats before he began to slowly undress. My gaze tracked his panther-like movements as he discarded piece after piece until he was bare before me, the hard evidence of his arousal on display.

Stalking forward, he tapped his brother’s shoulder, his gaze holding mine, sending a sizzle of excitement through me as he took his brother’s place. He pulled me close with one hand on my hip, the other cupping my cheek gently. Desire flamed in his gaze as he held me, pausing for an instant before he brought his lips to mine.

The kiss was featherlight and coaxing enough to provoke a shiver before I melted into him, opening up and following exactly where he wanted to lead me. If Kiernan’s kiss made my head spin, then Seamus’s took my breath away.

In this, as much as everything else, there was a balance to be found between them. The raw passion of one brother that started a wildfire that seared me with its power, and the smooth sensuality of the other, tempering the inferno into a blaze that would burn through the night.

They had broken me apart the night of the auction, and those parts were kept jagged and in pieces every night I was stuck in that brothel, but slowly, they were putting me back together again, stronger than I’d been before.

Seamus drew back sooner than I wanted, and I leaned in to close the distance before I was aware of it. Judging by the satisfied gleam in his eyes, that was what he’d intended.

Bastard.

“Who’s going first?” Kiernan licked his lips seductively, his tatted, callused hands skirting down the buttons of his shirt, revealing the tattooed expanse of his chest inch by inch. Seamus smirked as his own hands divested me of my bra and panties.

“Why don’t we let her choose?”
