“You should leave it. I like it. It’s soft and silky.” Hayden’s voice softened. “I’ve always loved long hair on a man.”

Hayden’s fingers massaged his scalp as he worked the shampoo through his hair, and he almost purred with contentment.

“Put your head back. I don’t want to get soap in your eyes. Lean back on me if you want. I don’t need you overbalancing.” He spoke softly, his mouth close to Ashok’s ear.

He did as he was asked and closed his eyes. He could sleep, so relaxing was the motion, but all too soon, Hayden stopped, taking the shower head out of the holder.

“I’ll just rinse it off, then leave you to it. Shout when you’re done, and I’ll help you back to the bedroom.”

In no time, Hayden was gone, leaving Ashok on his own with his thoughts. No one had ever done that for him before, taken care of him like that. The last person was probably his mum when he’d been released from the hospital, but that hadn’t brought about the reaction he’d had to Hayden.

For a long time, any thoughts of sex or wanking had resulted in a complete lack of interest, his assault having driven any desire from his body. He masturbated out of habit more than because he needed or wanted to, and even then it wasn’t often.

Trust today to be the day his dick decided to wake up and take notice.

He slowly removed his briefs, his cock hard, begging for attention. He stroked it, tentatively at first, thinking of how Hayden’s hands had felt in his hair, how he’d felt every ridge of his abs as he’d leaned back into him. The scent of his skin. It was intoxicating.

He braced himself on the wall, his senses overloaded, dizzy with lust. Pressure built in his cock as he stroked, and he knew it wouldn’t be long. He bit his lip to contain his groans, scared Hayden would hear him as he came. When he did, it surprised him with its ferocity. Jets of cum shot from him, and he watched breathlessly as it swirled down the drain, his legs threatening to give way.

His heart pounded in his chest, and it took him a minute or two to compose himself.

But he was scared. Scared of his feelings, terrified of the effect Hayden was having on him. Nothing ever ended well for him, he knew that, but just maybe, Hayden would be the one to change all that.

Maybe Hayden would be the one to turn things around. Only time would tell.

Chapter Thirteen

Hayden

IfHaydenhadn’talreadybeen aware, the shower with Ash had solidified the attraction he felt for him. It’d grown steadily over the past few days, and he’d marvelled at how Ashok had slowly come out of his shell, laughing and joking with him.

It was a far cry from their first encounter, where he’d honestly wondered how on earth they could make it work. He was just sorry Ash’s injury was what had brought about this change in their relationship. He also knew he’d taken a chance talking to his parents about Christmas and bringing Ashok along, but he couldn’t just leave him here.

Vic was looking forward to meeting him and had been teasing Hayden about him having a boyfriend. She couldn’t have been any further from the truth, but a seed had been planted in his head and had taken root against his better judgement. Ash was so far from what he would normally look for in a man. Perhaps that’s why nothing had worked out before; he was looking for something in the wrong people.

He stripped the bed while Ash showered, throwing the dirty linen into the laundry basket, and his thoughts wandered to what he’d seen when he’d rushed in earlier. Ash’s bag open on the floor, his belongings everywhere. He could tell Ash was expecting the worst, expecting him to say something, but there really wasn’t anythingtosay. Ash had his secrets, the same as he did. He wasn’t about to call him out on them.

He’d been appalled at the scars on his body, some shallow and pale, others raised and ugly. He had a particularly bad one on his arm, and he’d seen him reach for it more than once. As much as he wanted to know about them, he wouldn’t ask.

Quickly finishing up, he placed the bag neatly at the end of the bed. Ash could go through it later. They had a couple of days until they left, plenty of time to get everything ready. Shopping was pretty much done, but an idea sprung to mind; he just needed to find the time to buy it.

A muffled shout from the bathroom, and he knew Ash was done. He needed to play it cool, try not to let him know just how much of an effect he was having on Hayden. Hopefully, he could hide it so that it wouldn’t become too apparent. Although he didn’t know him well, he had a feeling Ash wasn’t ready for that type of relationship, that platonic would be all he could offer, and he was fine with that.

“All done?” Hayden knocked on the door before entering. Ash was just pulling his shirt over his head, much to Hayden’s disappointment.

“I’m done, thanks, both with the shower and this stupid pain. If you could just wrap my ankle, I’ll be going back to bed. I can take the small room now. I don’t want to keep you out of your own bed.” His voice was dismissive and emotionless.

Hayden wasn’t sure what had happened after he’d left the bathroom, but there was a distinct change in attitude from Ash, more akin to when they’d first met, and he didn’t like it one bit. He thought they had made progress, and he feared that Ash would now refuse to go home with him, despite his earlier agreement.

“You can still take the double. I’ve changed the covers, and I really don’t mind. You need the extra space right now.” Hayden wasn’t taking no for an answer and hoped the look on his face conveyed that sentiment.

He strapped Ash’s ankle, paying particular attention to the smooth skin beneath his fingers. His feet were delicate, not gnarly and ugly like most men’s, despite being a dancer. He only wished he could explore further.

He finished up and helped Ash back to his room, steering him effortlessly away from the smaller room.

“We’ll sort out the laundry tomorrow. I’ll get your painkillers and a drink, then leave you to it.” He hated that they were back to this, but he’d be guided by Ash. Not knowing what had gone on in his past, he could only think that whatever had happened to him had a bearing on how he was now.

“Thank you, Hayden.” The look on his face was apologetic, as if he knew exactly what he was doing. Hayden nodded and left the room. Hopefully, the trip home would help him and make him see that Hayden could be trusted.
