“Yeah. Manman is just being hard on herself. We’re okay. Let’s eat. I’m hungry as hell.”

Manman lifted her head from my shoulder and gave me a soft smile as she put her hand to my cheek. She walked away, and Jungle grabbed my hand, leading me to the front room. “She got in her feelings, apologizing for everything I’ve been through.”

When Jungle’s facial expression didn’t ease up, I frowned. I was on edge now. “Jungle, what’s wrong?”

“I’m gonna fuck Van up when I catch up to him. Make yo’ peace with that.”

“What happened?”

I was nervous as hell. “Vegas said he’s talking to the police about me. Telling them about my inner workings within the company. I have no clue how he know all that shit, but he’s a dead man walking.”

Jungle walked away from me, and I felt like I had to throw up. I didn’t know all the shit he was into, but I was new to the area. I assumed drugs was the only thing, and he said he was getting out of that. I sat on the couch and stared at the floor until he reappeared. When he sat next to me, he pulled me in his arms.

I stared up at him. “I’m sorry. He’s only going after you because of me. I fucked up.”

Jungle grabbed my chin. “Naw.Hefucked up. I wouldn’t want to let a woman like you go either, but he has to realize that he never really had you. Your heart has been mine since day one. It’s too late for him to get that though. As soon as I find out what’s up with his ass, I’ll let you know. I have a feeling that this is about more than just you… just like that bullshit with Kennedy.”

I nodded as he grabbed my hand and kissed it. “I’m sorry if I made you believe this was your fault. I just know that you know him better than I do. I don’t know if you consider him a friend, but he’s on borrowed time.”

“We’re not friends. He doesn’t know anything about me other than my name and that I’m from Florida. If he knows more, he hasn’t made me aware of that.”

Jungle stood from his seat and helped me from mine. “Jericho and I will be leaving early. We got some shit to handle and follow up on for Watchful Eyes, then we’ll be going to turn up for my bruh.”

“Who all will be there?”

“Everybody, man. I’m not sure about Seneca, but everybody else will be there except Jamel. He and Sandrene are still honeymooning.”

“I think Kaysyn is supposed to be at the bachelorette party. I’m not worried right now though.”

“You don’t have to worry at all. I still hired that lawyer. Jericho gave me the info I needed, and he’s been finding proof that will confirm everything you say, including hospital records.”

I threw my arms around Jungle as I allowed tears to escape me. He loved me so much. I’d be a fool to ever leave him. “Jungle… oh my God.” I cried.

He gently rubbed my back. “I always got’chu, baby, even when you think you don’t need me.”

He kissed my ear, and I pulled away from him. “I can’t wait to show you my appreciation tonight after we get to our room.”

“Mm. I can’t wait either. My tongue is craving them flavors, girl.”

I bit my bottom lip. Although I hadn’t unlocked it yet, I could tell that Jungle was a whole ass freak. I couldn’t wait until I could handle everything he had to offer. In time, I would be able to match his sexual prowess. “Good. I plan to get drunk enough to not care where I sit,” I said as I slid my fingers through his beard.

He frowned like he was ready to tear me apart. I walked away with a smirk on my lips, knowing he was gon’ fuck my world up.

CHAPTER13

JUNGLE

“So you saying Knowledge is gone, out of there, finished,” Shy said.

“Yep. I’m about to forward y’all the pictures,” Jericho said.

We were at our meeting with Watchful Eyes, and Seneca was sitting in the far corner, trying to be as far away from Jericho as possible. All they had to do was drop the bullshit they were on. Monday wouldn’t be a trial. It was more of a proceeding for them to prove Chelsea unfit. I didn’t know how they were going to do that. I told that lawyer to use my financials as her backing. That was the only thing they could have against her. On her salary alone, she couldn’t provide a life for Jericka similar to the one she already had.

When my burner chimed, it took my attention away from Seneca. We all had burners since some things we did were outside of the law and outside the scope of services that Watchful Eyes provided. After opening the message, I saw that nigga was good and bloody. There were also a couple of other niggas dead in the pictures. I assumed they were working with him.

“Do you trust that this is legit?” Chad asked.

“Yep.”
