CHELSEA

“I’m so throwed in the game, southside player screwed up clique, mane!”

I was so fucked up. I was rapping along with Fat Pat in “25 Lighters” as everybody turned up. We were in a club going off. I hadn’t had this much fun in so long. “Pop my trunk and yep, yep, yep!”

I fell to the couch in VIP as Whitney laughed at me. The hip hop club in Beaumont was going the fuck off tonight. I was glad Jungle had schooled me on all the best tracks to get lit to. He said that song was his shit back in the day. As I thought about him, he texted back. You need me to go meet you and fuck that lil pussy up in a bathroom stall?

I laughed so loud. Everything was funny as hell, but his words had me juicing like an overripe Florida orange. I’d never been drunk like this. After my high school prom, I got a little tipsy, but I was so scared to fully let go, not knowing what repercussions I would have to face when I got home. Jules had someone watching me at all times. While I was in school, I could go places, because he didn’t want the state in our business.

He didn’t start making me stay indoors until I started giving them problems by trying to escape. As I tried to text Jungle back, Riley sat next to me as she laughed. “Girl, you fucked up!”

I laughed. “All the way up. That’s why Jungle gon’ have to come get me.”

“Are y’all a couple?”

“Yep. That man been my baby, but it’s finally official.”

“That’s what’s up.”

Lexi sat on the other side of Whitney, and they were talking as I messaged Jungle.Come get me, baby. We’re at a club downtown.

I looked over at Riley and asked, “What’s the name of this place?”

“It’s the Culture Lounge. They normally do live bands and stuff, but it’s hip-hop night.”

“Okay.”

I texted Jungle the name of the place we were at, although I felt like I fucked it up. I could barely see straight. Not long after, he called.Yeah, I probably fucked that text all the way up.“Helloooo?”

I laughed when I heard him chuckle. “Man, you so fucked up. I hope you can tolerate that shit, or you gon’ regret it tomorrow. Na, where the fuck y’all at? That shit you sent me looked like a bunch of gibberish.”

I laughed again and handed the phone to Riley as I stood up to dance. She couldn’t get drunk since she was pregnant. Shavozz had left early because she wasn’t feeling good. She said the smell had fucked her stomach up. She had us laughing when she said she had to be having a little girl that would have her attitude too.

Riley handed me my phone and said, “He said he would be here in ten minutes.”

“Thank you!”

I tried to dance to this creepy ass song Jungle played for me by the Geto Boys, but I couldn’t get into it. My damn mind played tricks on me all the damn time. I didn’t need the reminder. As I was about to sit down, Alexz with a Z caught me by the arm. “Bitch, you lit! You were about to hit that fucking floor!”

I laughed as she helped me to my seat. That floor would have sobered me all the way up. “Shit. Thank you.”

She laughed and said, “Girl, you gon’ have a headache from hell!”

When she walked away, a nigga sat next to me and slid his finger down my arm. “Damn, shawty. You fine as shit. Where you from?”

“What make you think I ain’t from here?”

“Girl, as fine as you are, I would have seen you somewhere. Beaumont ain’tthatfucking big. What’s yo’ name?”

“Chelsea.”

“That’s what’s up. I’m Omar. You think we can hang out sometimes?”

“Naw. I got a man.”

“I should have known that shit,” he said as he licked his tinted lips.

He was fine, that was for sure. Nigga looked like an Indian, long hair and all. The bottom grill in his mouth was sexy too. He smiled and said, “Yo’ nigga a lucky muthafucka.”
