“Yep,” Anders said, sounding just as nervous as she felt. “Can I pick you up or do you want to meet me again?” he asked.
“Um, I guess I can trust that you’re not a serial killer,” she teased. “I don’t usually give guys my address or let them pick me up for a date, but you seem to be a pretty standup guy. Here, give me your phone,” she ordered. Anders trustingly handed it over and she put in her cell number. “There, now you have my number. Just text me the details and I’ll be ready.”
“Looks can be deceiving, Honey,” he breathed.
“Sorry?” She asked, trying to keep up with him.
“You said that I seem like a standup guy. Looks can be deceiving,” he explained. He was standing so close to her; she could feel his breath on her face.
“Good to know,” she whispered. “You gonna kiss me, Anders?” she asked.
“Yes,” he breathed. He was so much taller than she was, he pulled her up against his body and lifted her off the ground. He kissed her, sealing his mouth over hers and when she moaned into his mouth, he licked his way in, letting his tongue find hers. It was the hottest kiss she’d ever received and the fact that it was from Anders was everything. When he stopped kissing her, she was breathless, panting, and ready for more.
“Good night, Texas,” Anders whispered. He opened her car door and waited for her to get in. She wasn’t sure if she wanted to protest or slip into the driver’s seat and speed away as quickly as possible. Nothing was going as she had envisioned and now, he was all but dismissing her.
Texas slipped into her car and Anders shut her door. Before she drove off, she chanced one last look in her rearview mirror, and he waved at her. Yeah, her first date with Anders was nothing like she expected it would be. All she would be able to do was overanalyze everything that happened during their dinner and then obsessively plan everything she hoped to say and do on Saturday’s date because she wanted their second date to be perfect.
