He closes the door behind him. “Everything okay?”

“Yeah. I uh…just needed to get away from all the noise for a bit.”

“In my room where you’d know I’d be coming to change out of my work clothes?” He quirks a brow. “Ah, I see why you’re in here now.” He locks the door behind him. “You’re here for the show. In that case, I better not waste any time getting started.” He tugs off his shirt, swaying his hips, and then reaches for the front of his belt.

I shake my head and quickly get to my feet. “I’m sure it’ll be a really good one but I should probably get back out there before someone notices I’m gone.”

He grabs my hands and pulls me close, claiming my lips with his. “No, don’t go yet. I just got here and I’ve been thinking about kissing you all day. No one has to know where you are. You could’ve gone back to your place for something real quick. This can be our little secret.” His lips are on mine again before I can respond. I melt into him, my legs turning to Jell-o.

Pulling away, I press my hands on his shoulders to keep him from coming too close again. “Really. I need to return to the party. I’ll see you out there.”

He wraps his fingers around my arm, pulling me back before I can reach the door. “What’s going on? Is something bothering you?”

He tugs at my chin, forcing me to meet his hard gaze. “Tell me, love bird.”

I sigh softly, my feet shifting. “Are you and Kyle seeing each other again?”

“What?” His eyebrows raise.

“I saw you both enter the house together and him holding your arm. If you’re seeing him too that’s fine, I just—”

His hand falls from my face and his jaw twitches. “I’m not. Only you. I told you already who I want and I meant it. Why would I be with Kyle again when things didn’t work out the first time?”

“I’m sorry I… The way you two came here together, I assumed—”

He shakes his head, his curls bouncing around him. “I know what you assumed and you’re wrong. I know you’ve been hurt recently and have a hard time trusting but this is me, Theo.” He grabs my hand and brings it to his lips. “Please believe me when I say I’d never hurt you in any way. Ever.”

Sucking air between my teeth, I bury my face in his neck. “I know. I’m sorry. I didn’t necessarily think you were. I only thought I understood everything wrong. I usually do.”

“Look at me.”

I do as he says, lifting my head back up. His hand cups my cheek the moment we are face-to-face. “This is me being very clear. You’re mine and I’m yours. I’m not with Kyle or anyone else. I’m with you, and when you’re ready, I’ll make sure everyone in the world knows.”

So thick with emotion, I do my best to clear my throat before I can speak again. “Okay. I’m sorry.”

“Stop apologizing. It was nothing more than a misunderstanding and if I have to stop what I’m doing to clear up something for you every time there is one, I will do it a thousand times over.” He tucks a few loose strands of hair behind my ear. “My car broke down and Kyle happened to be driving by. He offered to give me a lift and I figured I’d invite him in for dinner as a way to thank him. That’s all. He might have gotten the wrong idea a few times but I straightened him out and now I’m here with you.”

I rub my face against his hand, wishing I could be as brave and open as Kyle. He has the luxury of touching Finn without anyone caring. Knowing Finn won’t let him anymore makes me feel a little better. I still wish things could be different. That I was someone else’s brother, or he was someone else’s son. Instead, this is our reality, and it’s such a hard pill to swallow.

“Okay,” I say, resisting the urge to coo, almost forgetting where we are. This whole time I thought my safe place was my bed when it turns out it’s been Finn all along.

He kisses my nose and steps back. “Since we have that all cleared up, you go back to sitting where you were while I go back to where I left off.”

I laugh and sit on the bed, my heart warming at the way he stares down at me with so much want and love in his eyes. Maybe instead of viewing it as reading things wrong, I can finally come to the revelation of me seeing everything right for the first time. What a beautiful sight Finn is too.

He finishes his strip tease, slowly peeling each remaining piece of clothing from his body, occasionally bending down a little too far. When his ass is waving in the air, I have to keep myself from rushing forward to shove my tongue between the perfect toned globes.

Finn flosses his underwear between his legs before throwing them my way and I toss my head back, allowing the laughter and happiness I feel to take over.

“I thought you were only changing your shirt and pants.”

“I was originally but then decided at the last minute to leave behind a souvenir for my biggest fan.” He wiggles his brows.

“So these are for me, huh?”

“Yes. I want you to hold on to them for me until the end of the night.”

“And then what? You take them back?”
