“You don’t have to say the asshole’s name. He’s the past and there’s no longer room for him in your thoughts.”

“Yeah. He has a habit of invading them anyway.” He shuts off the water and turns toward me. “I hear him a lot less when you’re around.”

Smiling, I stroke his bottom lip and it trembles against my finger. “That just means I’ll have to make sure I’m around more.”

His lips tilt. “I’m not sure there’s such a thing.”

I laugh. “Of course there is.”You could invite me on your trip with you, I want to add but don’t.

“Any more and we’ll morph into one person.” He smiles cheekily.

My heart drops. Does he not want me to go? Is he taking someone else instead? What if someone older and more experienced offers to play with him there and he says yes? Jesus. I’m sounding like a damn insecure child.

“I suppose that could be a problem. It would be a lot harder to rim you that way.”

A laugh barrels out of him. “Of course that’s the first thing you think about it.”

I rub my nose over his, licking at his parting lips. Yeah, definitely another part of his body I’d miss plunging my tongue into. “What can I say? You have a nice ass.”

He nibbles on my lips and I twist the barbell in his nipple, earning me a coo. “So are you not going on the trip then? Because if you really don’t want to go alone there’s a solution for that and he’s standing right in front of you.”

He snorts. “I thought I found it when my best friend offered to join me but then he messaged me this morning to tell me he came down with the flu, so he can’t anymore.”

“So because he can’t go, you are going to miss out on something you’ve been looking forward to going to for the last few days?”

“How do you know I was looking forward to it?” He quirks a brow, opening the shower curtain.

I eye him closely, tugging on his arm to keep him from stepping out of the tub. “Baby, you purchased a new suitcase and ordered two new outfits online.”

His face lights up in amusement. “I forgot, I have a stalker now who sees everything.”

“You do. Did you get the pictures I slipped under the door this morning I took of you getting out of your car last night?” After he gave me full permission to creep on him, I’ve taken advantage of every opportunity I’ve had.

His eyes darken with arousal. “Yes. In a yellow envelope with a dove drawn on the back.”

“I wanted you to know who they were from.” It’s only exciting for him if he knows it’s something between us and he has full control of the situation. It all ends when he wants. The way he got off in the bathroom this morning in front of the mirror knowing I was standing outside the window assured me he was nowhere near reaching that point. Unable to see me in view, he still smiled my way as he rested against the sink, breathless and coming down from his orgasm.

“You did a good job then.”

“I try. So tell me why you’re considering not going to something so important to you.”

He glances at the floor and back at me. “Because the thought of sitting on the plane and entering the resort alone leaves me on edge every time I think about it.”

“Then let me go with you. Only if you want me there, of course. I can’t fly out with you tomorrow because of work but can join you the next day.” I stroke the softest part of his belly. I can’t wait to rest my face there later.

“Wait. How do you know I fly out tomorrow?”

“Do you really have to keep asking me these questions?” I step out of the shower first, grabbing his hand and pulling him behind me.

“You have a point.” He sighs, reaching for a towel from the rack at the same time as me. “I don’t want to make you do that.”

“You’re not making me do anything, baby.” I take hold of the front of his towel, tying it for him. “If you need me with you then I’m there.”

His gaze drifts around the room before landing back on me. “You have work and lots of studying to do. What if your parents ask you where you are?”

“I can do it on the plane and while you sleep in.” I tug on his chin and capture his mouth with mine. “And the good thing about being a grown ass man is that I owe my parents no explanation of where I’m going and why. I can just say I’ll be going on a short trip with friends and that’ll be the end of it.”

His gaze drops to his feet as he shuffles them from side to side. “It’s okay, really. You’re right, I shouldn’t let a small bump in the road stop me from going to something I’ve dreamed about for a long time. I’m going to go and have fun like I intended to before Kevin canceled on me. I’m sure I’ll meet lots of new friends there. Who says I have to be alone the whole time.”
