He nods eagerly and I smile, scooping some seeds in my hand. I flatten my palm in front of him. “Go ahead, love bird. Eat the snack from your handler’s hand like my good boy.”

He rushes toward me, attacking my hand with his mouth. He switches between licking and nibbling, his teeth occasionally scraping against my skin. I laugh at his enthusiasm and pet his head. “Not so fast, baby. You’ll choke.”

When my hand is finally clean of seed, I place the plate with the remainder of his snack on the bed. He eats each sunflower seed, not leaving a single one behind. I scratch behind his ears in praise and pet above his beak before carrying the plate to the trash.

Undoing his harness, I pull his wings off and then his mask. As I’m returning everything back to the closet, he circles around the bed until he settles in a comfortable spot. I turn off the light and climb in behind him, wrapping my arm around his waist. I bury my face in his hair and breathe him in. “I want to wake you up in the morning with my mouth. Would that be okay, love bird?”

“Coocoo.” His sounds run together and I laugh, kissing his ear.

“Good. Now let’s get some sleep, and I’ll be sure you wake up screaming my name.”

He shivers and more sweet sounds slip from his mouth—mixtures of moans and a cute tweet.

Theo squirms beneath me, pushing his ass against my face as I plunge my tongue inside his quivering hole. He moans and writhes, clawing at the sheets. Spreading his cheeks farther apart, I dive in deeper and his body shakes out of control, his walls clenching around me.

“Finn,” he screams. “Ahh. It feels so good. Oh Finn.”

I reach between my thighs, stroking myself as he continues to yell my name while coming into the sheets. Yeah, I’m going to definitely miss mornings like these when he’s gone.

Sitting on the plane, I open my window covering and glance outside to watch the clouds move. My knees bounce against my seat and I dig my nails into my thighs. Closing my eyes, I picture Finn’s smiling face and touch my lips with my fingertips, still feeling the tingling sensation left behind from his kiss this morning.

I wanted to ask him to come with me but didn’t know if we were there yet. He offered to meet me at the resort tomorrow since he had to work today and I told him not to worry about it. He has tests coming up and his online class forums to worry about; he doesn’t have time to spend the next few days in Lake Tahoe with me.

I only wish I wasn’t going a day before everything started. Getting there before was supposed to give me and Isaac more time to sightsee. There’s nothing exciting about wandering in a new place all by yourself. The plane shakes a little from turbulence and I chew my gum harder to prevent my ears from popping. Reaching into my pocket, I peel back the foil wrapper and pop a fresh piece of gum into my mouth, hoping the strong mint taste will ease my nausea.

I don’t relax until the plane stops moving and the seat belt light goes off, giving us permission to undo our buckles. I free myself from the seat when the front row stands up to exit the plane. Standing in front of my seat, I tug my luggage down and wait my turn to step into the aisle, ready to be back on the ground. When it’s finally my turn to go, I walk toward the exit, taking a deep breath as I enter the airport.

My hand trembles as I pull out my phone, and I send Finn a message to let him know I’ve arrived okay. I don’t hear anything back as I’m walking down to where the shuttles are. I still haven’t heard from him by the time I arrive at the hotel either. The lobby is huge with lots of windows, and a huge river rock fireplace makes up one of the many walls on the main floor. I drag my suitcase behind me to the front desk and a man greets me with a smile. “Checking in today?”

“Yes. The names are Theo Vazquez and Isaac Rodrigo.”

His fingers tap against the keys and his eyes focus on the screen. “I’m sorry, sir, but Mr. Rodrigo has already checked into the room and it looks like your name has been removed.”

A knot forms in my stomach. “That can’t be right. He wasn’t able to make it after all. Can you check again please?”

The man’s brows furrow. “I’m checking again and still see him as checked in as of four p.m. today.”

I hold on to the counter to keep from crashing to the floor. This can’t be happening. “Then I guess I’ll have to get a new room.”

“I’m sorry, sir.” The man frowns, sympathy heavy in his eyes. “The last room was placed on hold this morning.”

A lump forms in my throat and I nod when words won’t come out.

“I can always put you on a waiting list and call you if one becomes available. Are you here for the Pet Play event?”

“Yes.”

“I really do apologize for the misunderstanding. Maybe you can call the other guy and work something out together. You can always see if he’ll be willing to let you crash there for a few days.”

“Yeah. I’ll try that,” I lie. No fucking way am I calling Isaac, let alone sleeping in the same room as him. Why would he come here? Is he alone? Something ugly curls inside me when I see him walking into the hotel restaurant with his arm slung around a familiar blond. No. He didn’t only take my room, he brought him. The whole room shakes and my vision blurs.

“Anything else I can help you with?”
