Tove was the kind of woman to only unleash her secret self with women she trusted. Such an honor both elated Kayla, who was happy to make herself available for more, and had her retaking stock of whatshewanted from sexual relationships. In a world where her preferences and needs mattered equally, could she even remember what turned her on and inspired the greedy glutton inside of her? Had she ever allowed herself to feel this good about aspanking?

Yes. No.Yes!

“Is that it?” a breathless Kayla asked when her girlfriend took a break from turning pale flesh pink. “I bet you’ve got more in you.”

She wrapped her hand around the back of her hips, careful not to touch her tender skin. Tove pretended to be disinterested.

“Trust me. I’m not done with you yet.”

“Is that a promise?”

“Take off your shirt.”

Kayla’s active participation during the interim made her more passive parts in between even more satisfying to relish.I was kidding when I suggested she spank my chest.Tove was much gentler with her taps, but it was enough. Every twist of her wrist resulted in an electric shock straight through Kayla’s nipples and into the rest of her body.Come on, Tove. Get it out of your system.Kayla had been such a bad girl those past few months.Lying to you. Seducing you. Getting money out of your family to get my way…

She felt that last one when Tove ended their session with a tap between the legs.

“You’re not gonna ask if I liked that?” Kayla squeaked when Tove tossed the paddle aside and fished her strap-on out of the nightstand.

“I don’t have to.” Tove nodded to the wetness on Kayla’s underwear.

“You’re a woman. That could be from anything.”

“Could be, but I know it’s not fromanything.”

“You’re right.” Kayla lay with her legs open. “It’s from a specificsomething.You.”

When Tove was ready, she crawled between Kayla’s legs, taking her back to the first time they made love in this bed.You blew my mind with how wicked you are in bed, and I became so easily yours. At the time, enjoying sex with her partner had been a novelty instead of something done to keep them interested. Now Kayla was an active player. This was no one-sided love.

After what felt like an eternity, Tove lowered her lips to Kayla’s. Their first kiss since reuniting was the sweetest, most methodical thing that night.

Because what came next was far from sweet. It was downright animalistic, and Kayla had never been happier to get in touch with her inner tiger.

November

ThedayTovereceivedthe key to the store brought an unexpected tear to her eye.

“Oh, go on.” Trudy waved both hands at Tove as if she couldn’t manage such emotional outbursts. “Look at you. Growing up.”

Those were the words to knock sense into Tove. “Sorry. Didn’t mean to start crying.”

“I was giving you a hard time.” Nevertheless, Trudy brought Tove into a strong hug reminiscent of a mother’s pride. Tove was not shy about returning the platonic embrace that she had been starved for since her mother became sick. “Good luck to you, hon. The next chapter of your life has begun!”

Trudy had to get going, thanks to traveling out of state for Thanksgiving. Tove had some plans of her own to indulge. No, nothing like Thanksgiving. That was a half-truth. Grady and his family were coming down to Bend to formally meet Tove (for real, this time) and take in what she had to offer Kayla, who was also busy that day. Yet that wasn’t until Wednesday. For now, Tove had the place to herself.

There are so many things to do.Yet Tove only became more excited with the promise of a new challenge to stimulate the long-dormant parts of her mind. She wandered the perimeter of the store, fixing up displays, noting that the bestselling hoodie needed to be restocked of the ever-popular L size, and that a spider had taken residence up in the front corner of the store. There was also the issue of branding since this place couldn’t stay “Trudy’s Gifts” forever. Kayla wanted to rename it “Tove’s Gifts” or “Tove’s Trove” to be silly, but someone wasn’t sure about having her name in the title.Treasures has a nice ring to it.Maybe “The Treasure Trove” or, if Kayla got her way, “Tove’s Treasures.” Except Tove had enough business acumen to realize it had to not only be catchy and memorable to those who visited before, but obvious toward what it was about to those perusing for places to shop on Google Maps.

Fortunately, that was a project for future Tove, the one existing after next year’s tax season. While the rumors were true regarding Tove’s continuing accounting practice – but only for select clients she would phase out over the next few years – she wanted to be smart about it. That meant taking her time to transition the branding of a long-standing store in downtown Bend. It also meant thinking long and hard about who she wanted to hire part-time if anyone.I’ve never had employees before. Not even casual ones like Kayla, who helped out when she could with the understanding that she benefited from the success of the store via “trickle down Tove economics,” as her girlfriend had explained it after a bottle of wine one night.

I thought I was so clever calling it that…It made Tove cringe!

The bell attached to the door rang. Tove looked up, expecting to see Kayla or one of her nosy family members, but it was a pair of strangers that looked back at her.

“H… hi!” She jerked up from the display she rearranged. “Welcome! Looking for anything in particular?”

The young woman of the couple immediately detached from her male partner and perused the local guidebooks. The man was the one who approached Tove.

“We recently moved to the area and are looking for some souvenirs to take back to our family in Boise for Thanksgiving. Do you have any outdoorsy toys for kids and maybe a novel set in the area? I ask because my sister is one of those voracious readers, and I thought it would be cool to get her something set in the city I now live in.”
