I take a deep breath, trying to control my racing desire, but it doesn’t stop with the drinks. Our food arrives, and his hand stays beneath the table, relentless, teasing me into a silent frenzy as he skims my thighs… The backs of my knees… Even brushing so tantalizingly close to my pussy from time to time, until I’m practically panting for him.

Despite my haze of lust, it’s a delicious dinner, and the music is amazing. There’s a man sitting behind a piano, singing in a deep voice. It’s a relaxed atmosphere, but undeniably romantic, the low lighting setting the mood.

The man comes to the end of a song and rises from the piano. “Thank you,” he says, to the sound of applause. “Tonight, we have a very special guest joining us. Please welcome her, Miss Amelie Michaels.”

He points, and a spotlight lands on our table.

Wait…

Amelie. That’s the name I’ve been travelling under.

I turn to stare at Sebastian with wide eyes. “What did you do?” I hiss, as the crowd applauds encouragingly.

He smiles. “I want you to sing for me.”

“I can do that at the apartment,” I protest, flustered. Never mind the fact he’s spent the past half-hour turning me on, now the whole room is looking at us. “But here… All these people watching? I can’t!”

“Yes, you can,” Sebastian says calmly. “And if you don’t believe you can do it… Do it for me. I want to see you light up that stage, just one song. For me. Please?”

I gulp. My stomach is flip-flopping with nerves, but I could never deny him anything he wants from me…

Not when a small part of me wants it too.

“You better make it up to me,” I warn him playfully, getting to my feet. My legs are unsteady, and it takes me a moment to gather my courage before walking over to the stage, my heartbeat pounding so hard that I’m sure everyone can hear it.

All eyes are on me.

Shit.

I take my place at the piano with the bright stage lights shining down on me, and I try not to panic. I haven’t performed in public… Well, ever. And now, feeling everyone staring expectantly, I remember why.

Sing just for him,I tell myself. Pretend like there’s nobody else in the room.

That part is simple. When Sebastian’s around, everything else disappears, so I look up, finding him in the crowd. He gives me an encouraging smile, so I move my hands to the keys, and find myself playing a familiar refrain.

I played it for him once before, what feels like a lifetime ago. Back then, the words were tinted with fear and longing, but now, all that’s behind us.

I open my mouth and start to sing. It’s a sultry love song and as the words pour out of me, they’re for him. The nerves fade away because it doesn’t feel like there’s anyone else in the club. It’s just the two us.

Only him. Always.

Soon enough, I lose myself in the music, closing my eyes as I belt the final words. There’s a long silence, as I slowly come back to the present. Then the room bursts into applause.

Holy shit!

A rush of exhilaration crashes through me, taking in the sound of their approval, and the smiling faces all around.

I did it. I really did it.

I slowly get up. Sebastian is on his feet, cheering me on as I make my way across the club and arrive back at the table. I’m blushing like crazy, but it feels amazing. “Well?” I ask, even though his reaction is written all over his face.

Sebastian pulls me in, and answers me with a hot, deep kiss. There’s laughter around us, and I realize, we’re not alone.

“Seb,” I protest laughing, pulling back. “We still have an audience.”

“Not for long.”

Dropping a wad of cash on the table, he takes my hand and pulls me determinedly out of the club. “I can’t believe I just did that!” I gasp, as we exit to the dark streets. “Oh my god, I’ve never performed in front of anyone before.”
