“I didn’t mean to interrupt,” I said.

“You’re not interrupting a thing,” Seb said. “I’m just taking my time holding this little one.”

“I can see that,” I said.

I caught myself staring.

I reminded my mouth not to hang open and not to drool.

But -come on -seeing Seb holding a baby like he was?

My ovaries twisted, ached and squeezed and my body had the sudden urge to produce a thousand eggs all at once, wanting Seb to make a thousand babies for me and him.

Way too many wild racing thoughts at once for sure.

My lower back began to ache as my body entered some kind of mode it never went into before.

“Are you okay?” Seb asked me.

“I think she’s getting all hot and bothered being near all of us,” Jago said.

“Plus the baby fever is hitting her,” Henry said with a wink.

“Ha,” was the only sound that escaped my mouth.

A screechinghatoo.

Enough that the poor baby jumped and then began to cry.

“Oh, shoot, I’m sorry,” I said.

“That’s okay,” Seb said. “She’s not used to this yet. Her first time out in the big real world.”

Seb patted the baby’s backside.

The whole ovary thing happened again and again.

I looked at Hazel and I saw the look in her eyes.

A woman-to-woman connection going on.

She knew exactly what I felt.

She probably kind of felt it herself too.

Standing next to Atlas. The man who got her pregnant.

As I stood next to Seb.

The man who was my brother’s best friend.

“Mind if I take my daughter back now?” Atlas asked Seb.

“I’m not done yet,” Seb said. “There are weeks and weeks of cuddles and stories and all that. Uncle Seb is here.”

“Uncle Seb?” Rome asked.

“Dude, that’s a creepy sounding name,” Jago said.
