I can’t go back home yet, Sebby. Okay? I want to talk to you about it, but now is not the time.
“I have a job. If I’m in the way, I’ll leave. I’ll move somewhere else.”
“Does that mean you’re going to let Andy pay for something?”
“What? No. Never. I don’t need anyone to pay for me. Ever.”
Seb shook his head. “So then that means you’re still going to be crashing at my place. Which, hey, that’s fine by me. I told your brother I’d help.”
“But…” I said. “I feel it. There’s abutcoming. What is it, Seb? Are you still worked up over my bra?”
“It’s not that simple, April.”
“I didn’t know you’d be coming home that early and with someone,” I said. “I tossed my bra on the couch and walked away. I am so sorry for that, Seb. Want me to issue a public apology on social media?”
“You know what? Just forget about it. Today’s been a long day. We played the last game of the season. It’s a weird change to not have the season still going on.”
“Is this you acting like a baby?” I asked. “Because you didn’t make the playoffs?”
“Maybe it is. I’m just going to go home, grab a drink, then sit on the balcony and relax.”
“See? That balcony is amazing, isn’t it?”
Seb sighed. “April…”
“Yeah, I’m a pain in the ass. No need to remind me. I do have some good news for you.”
“Which is?”
“Remember that thing we talked about? With the dates?”
“Sure,” he said.
I threw my arms open.“I found the perfect woman for you to go out on a date with!”

I finishedmy beer and walked back into the apartment.
“Is that what you’re wearing?” April asked.
“I’m sorry? Should I wear a tux for this?”
“Maybe.”
She shrugged her shoulders and smiled.
“This is the most pain in the ass thing you’ve ever done,” I said. “You really think this will work? Picking out a date for me?”
“Just go along with it,” April said. “Trust me. I found someone perfect for you. And if things start to heat up at all, you just send me a text and I’ll disappear.”
“Where are you going to go?”
