Everyone began to cheer.

From the corner of my right eye I saw Joe powering his way toward me.

I pointed to him and waved him off.

“I’ve got this one,” I called out.

“You don’t have shit, Sebastian,” Andy said.

We began to circle each other.

Fists up.

Waiting for someone to make that first move.

At the same time, we grabbed for each other’s jerseys.

“How’s your season going?” Andy asked.

“How the fuck do you think?” I asked.

“I think we have a chance this year,” Andy said. “Might go all the way.”

“Like I did with your mother last night?”

“What the fuck, man,” Andy said. “My mother is dead. You know that. Why would you say that to me?”

“I don’t know,” I said. “We’re supposed to be fighting.”

“So throw a punch. I can take it. Just thought we could catch up for a second. This game is boring right now.”

“Remember when we were younger and used to talk about this?” I asked. “We’d debate who would win in a fight.”

“Great times,” Andy said. “Then we’d steal a bottle of the old man’s whiskey and get drunk.”

“Okay, we have to do this,” I said. “Ready?”

“Just don’t knock any teeth out,” Andy said.

“Want to hear how hard I fucked your sister?” I asked.

“That’s not fucking funny, Sebastian.”

I laughed. “Do something about it then. Or else I’ll tell you how wet she gets when she comes…”

Andy threw the first punch.

I threw the second one.

The fans cheered.

The fight only lasted a handful of seconds before Andy and I toppled to the ice.

We were both bloody.

“Hey,” Andy said. “Want to grab a beer after the game?”

“Yeah, sure,” I said.
