I looked at Seb.
I wanted him to be Seb.
Rough and tough but knowing boundaries. Willing to defend me. Willing to love me.
I really realized then how bad things had been fucked up.
It didn’t take long for the police to arrive.
I opened my apartment door and in rushed two officers.
They both went right for Kevin.
Of course Kevin said Seb jumped him and beat him up.
I did the dumb thing and started to yell at Kevin, letting it all out.
All that did was make the situation worse.
To the point where one of the officers asked Seb if he hit Kevin.
Seb nodded, no reason to lie.
I then stood there and watched as the officer put handcuffs on Seb.
“You’re just being detained,” the officer said. “Until we can sort this all out.”
Seb looked right at me. “Another fantasy of yours?”
I cringed and felt two inches tall.
Seeing Seb arrested? Okay, yeah, fine, that’s a fantasy of mine too.
But not in this scenario. Nothing like this…
“He didn’t do anything wrong,” I said to the officer. “He saved my life.”
“You fucked him!” Kevin yelled. “You bitch!”
Seb took off running toward Kevin.
Even with him in handcuffs, Kevin screamed for help.
The officer got in front of Seb. “Come on, man. Don’t be stupid here.”
“He was attacking her,” Seb said. “I came in here and he had his hand at her throat. What was I supposed to do? I could have done much worse to him. Look at the size of me compared to him. I just put him down on the floor and that was it.”
“I want to press charges!” Kevin yelled.
“So do I,” I said. “Against you.”
The two officers looked at each other.
Then the one looked at Seb. “Promise me you’ll stay put. Or else you will be arrested.”
“Yeah, sure,” Seb said.
That officer moved toward me. “Can we talk privately?”
