April went right back to work on him.

She spun around again.

This time her shoe came across Brian’s nose.

In the same motion she somehow grabbed Brian’s left arm and threw herself to the ground.

Her legs were locked tight at Brian’s shoulder, stretching his neck away from his body, all the while pulling and twisting his arm.

The sound Brian made…

Ouch.

His right hand began to slap against the floor and then he touched April’s leg.

The second he touched her, she released her hold.

She rolled back, flipped over and ended up on her feet.

She threw her hair back and was right back into a fighting stance.

“I saw the whole thing! Get his ass out of here!”

Bailey the bartender leaned over the bar as she spoke to two security guards.

They scooped Brian up off the floor.

“I can’t feel my arm,” Brian whined. “Or my shoulder. Or my neck. My nose is clogged. She fucked up my face.”

“You were ugly before she hit you,” one of the security guys said.

They carried Brian out of the bar.

The place erupted with cheers for April.

I walked up next to her, grabbed her left hand and lifted it into the air.

Before I had a chance to say a word, she turned and swung her right hand, hitting me in the gut.

I had to admit - it hurt.

I lost my breath for a second and had to step back.

April quickly covered her mouth.

“Sebby! I’m so sorry!”

“Damn, you know how to throw a punch,” I said.

She jumped at me, grabbing for me.

I put my right arm around her and pulled her against me.

We went back to the bar.

Bailey the bartender waited.

“You drink for free tonight,” she said to April. “That guy was harassing people all night. I try to keep the peace at my bar.”
