It was really all I could do.
I was lucky enough thatallergicto gingerdidn’t meanmedical emergency.
But it did mean a lot of itching, tingling, and annoyingness for a bit.
Although I was sure it was never this bad before.
After a minute or so I heard the shower door open slightly.
“You think it’s appropriate to open a shower door when someone is in here?” I asked.
“You’re fully clothed, Seb.”
“I could have stripped naked when I got in here.”
“I guess I took my chances.”
I looked at her.
She frowned. “I guess it’s safe to say those health bars have real ginger in them. No fake ingredients.”
“Seriously?” I asked. “You’re going to use my allergic reaction to sell that shit?”
“So you don’t like the taste?” April asked.
“Shut the door!” I yelled. “I’m trying towath…”
I swallowed hard and shook my head.
I opened my mouth and stuck out my tongue.
April covered her mouth.
Her eyes grew wide.
My tongue had swollen even more now.
Just fucking great.
April did a good job holding herself together for about four seconds.
She tried to shut the door before laughing at me, but didn’t succeed.
I stuck my right hand out to block her from shutting the door all the way.
She stepped back and started to laugh.
Loud.
“I’m so sorry!” she said as she laughed. “I’ve just never seen you this vulnerable before!”
My lip curled.
My cheeks itched.
My mouth tingled.
My tongue still swollen.
