“Come on, RJ. What’s going on? I thought you hated that Thane guy. He was in on kidnapping Jordan, right?”

“Yeah. So?”

“So, what aren’t you telling me?”

“Nothing.”

Grasping the bed railing with both hands hard enough to make it creak loudly, not helping my headache, Remy says, “You were always a shit liar. Spit it out now, or I’ll leave you here all night for observation.”

He wouldn’t really leave me here alone at the hospital, would he? Nah. Probably not. “I can’t remember.”

“Bullshit.”

He’s staring at me hard like he’s trying to read my mind.

Great, he’s never going to let this go. And I really want to go home. To see Thane. Now is as good a time as any to admit the truth. Hopefully, my brother will take pity on me while I’m injured.

“Fine! I’m bi, and he’s gay. We’ve been fooling around. Happy?”

“Whoa.” That one word is his only response as he releases the railing and takes a step backward. “No wonder he’s been calling so much…”

“You can’t tell anyone, Remy! Especially not about Thane. Swear to me on Avery’s life, Remy.”

“Swear on…” He pinches the bridge of his nose as if searching for words. “Wow, okay. I won’t say a word about you and…”

“Thane.”

Remy shakes his head. “First Colt, now you. How the hell did I miss so much?”

“What? Colt’s bi?”

“No. He has another secret from when we were kids. One I can’t tell you.”

“Okay. Some secrets are better kept secret.” Damn, maybe my head got busted up more than I realized.

“Why didn’t you tell me before now, RJ?”

“Because…I don’t know. The only reason I’m telling you now is probably because I’m high on painkillers.”

“How long have you known you were…”

“Bi? Not long. A few weeks.”

“Oh, so not when you were a kid?”

“Nope. Didn’t have a clue until Thane came along.”

“Wow.”

“It’s not a big deal,” I tell him, which is a lie.

“It is a big deal. And I will keep your secret. But I don’t think you should hide this from everyone. It doesn’t change anything.”

“Yeah, right. Dad will be pissed. You know how much he hates gays.”

“Fuck him. Dad’s a miserable sack of shit. He’s been like that since Mom walked out, so he’s never gonna be happy with any of us.”

“What about Bear and Colt?”
