“I love you too,” I tell him.

“Good. That’s great, baby,” he says before he grabs the back of my neck to cover my mouth with his. It’s a long, deep kiss full of forgiveness, frustration, relief.

When RJ pulls back, he looks me in the eye seriously and says, “Will you do something for me?”

“Anything,” I reply honestly.

“Will you come home with me? I want to get you out of those pants and get on my knees, but this carpet is too gross to kneel down on it.”

Laughing, I tell him, “Yeah, blondie. I’ll go home with you.”

When RJ’s brow suddenly furrows, I ask, “What’s wrong? I thought we were okay.”

“Do you call me blondie because I’m a dumb blond?”

“What? God no,” I assure him. “I call you blondie because the first time I saw you sneaking around the wedding…”

“Yeah?”

“Yeah. The first thing I thought was that you were the most gorgeous blond man I had ever seen, and I needed to talk to you.”

“Oh. That’s a lot better than you calling me dumb.”

“You’re not dumb, RJ. You’re a sweet, beautiful, amazing mechanic, and I think nobody ever noticed that reading is sometimes hard for you.”

“Sometimes? More like all the time.”

“Then you may have dyslexia or some other reading disability that nobody noticed. Your family and teachers should’ve paid more attention.”

“Oh. So I’m not dumb?”

“No, you’re not. And if anyone says that to you or makes you think that, I’ll kick their asses,” I promise him when I throw my arms around his neck. I pull him to me as tight as he can get, squeezing him hard because I’m so damn glad he’s here, that we’re okay. And that we always will be.

Nothing has ever felt as good and as permanent as this, as me and RJ.

He’s what I’ve been looking for my entire life.

EPILOGUE

RJ

One month later…

“Everyone is here, so I now call this meeting to order,” Remy says from the head of the long table. “To start off, I have a major announcement…”

“Me too!” I exclaim when I raise my hand in the air. It’s slightly heavier than it was yesterday, but I’m getting used to it.

“Can it wait, RJ?” Remy asks.

“No.”

“Then, fine, go ahead,” Remy says with a sigh.

Turning my hand around, I tell my brothers and Hugo, “Thane and I got married!”

“What in the holy fuck?” Colt exclaims. He comes out of his seat to reach across the table and grab my hand to look closer at the wide blue-and-black band that matches Thane’s. “I can’t believe you, RJ! How could you get married without any of us there? And before me and Josie?”

“Sorry, not sorry,” I tell him.
