“Guess so.”

“That wasn’t very smart.”

“Yeah, well, I’m not very smart. In case you haven’t noticed, I’m standing here behind port-a-potties with my pants down like a fucking fool.”

“You better wise up fast because I’m still waiting for you to give me a good reason not to turn you in to Isaac.”

I think of Bear out in the parking lot, waiting. Worrying. I need to figure out a way out this fast.

“Okay, so I can’t think right now, but I would really like to just leave,” I reply honestly. “So why don’t you just tell me what it’s going to take to convince you to pretend I wasn’t here?”

CHAPTERTWO

Thane Montgomery

Ican’t believe he got hard.

I’ve patted down tons of people, mostly guys when I worked the door of the bar the entire year I was prospecting. No man has ever stood at attention before. Most looked annoyed and angry, like they wanted to punch me in the face for getting too close and friendly with their privates.

This guy, though, he liked my hands on him? Liked having me feel him up? He said he wasn’t gay, but why else would he get turned on? I’ve been waiting a long damn time to find a hot bi or gay man in this town. It’s not like I can go around announcing that I’m looking for it though. If the Devil Hounds found out, best-case scenario, my ass would be booted, and my life would be over. The club is the only thing I have, so I’ve stayed locked up tight in my closet.

“What’s your name, blondie?” I ask the half-naked, gorgeous stranger as I stay kneeling in front of him.

“You don’t really need to know that, do you? Can I pull my pants up now?”

“Sure,” I tell him as I stuff his clipless gun in the back of my waistband.

While he redresses himself, covering his impressive bulge that made my mouth water, I pick up his wallet I tossed to the ground after I found it and get to my feet.

Opening it, I hold it up to the glow of the lights from nearby tents to read the driver’s license.

“Ruger James Fulton? You’re named after a freaking gun?”

“Yeah, but everyone calls me RJ.”

“I don’t blame them.”

“What’s your name?” he asks while fastening his belt. Good thing he doesn’t know how hard I was when I was undoing it on my knees. If he had asked me to, I would’ve sucked his entire soul out of his cock.

But again, he claims he’s not gay.

I don’t buy it, but I’m not about to force him to do anything. And since I know his name now and even where he lives, thanks to his ID, I tell him mine. “Thane. Thane Montgomery.”

“Thane?” he repeats several times in a row. “And you were making fun of my damn name?”

“Shut up,” I warn him before going back to flipping through his wallet. I pull out his license, a debit card, and few dollars in cash, shoving them in my jean pocket before offering the empty leather wallet back to him with a smile.

“Asshole. Can I go now that you molested me and robbed me?”

Molested? Is it molesting if he got excited during a routine pat down? And hell, I do wish I could let him leave, but I can’t. It’ll be a shame when Isaac destroys his pretty face with a bullet hole through it.

“Look, blondie, if I don’t take you to Isaac and he finds out I saw you here and let you go, he’ll take my patch,” I find myself explaining to the beautiful bastard.

“Oh. Well, then you could just join the Savage Kings. Our chapter is over in Rockland. It’s not that far…”

Holy. Fucking. Shit.

The Savage Kings? Those guys are goddamn legends, the kind of badass vigilantes that women love and most men can’t help but admire.
