She nodded. “Fine, but I don’t know where we are going.”

Kresso picked up two trays and grinned. “Follow me.”

He led the way into the cool halls of the house, and the set of double doors was where he stopped. She slipped forward and did her job. She opened the doors and got out of the way while they brought in the supplies. The table they set them on was soon full, and Mahel got a small disk from a drawer and set it in the centre of the assembled trays. “That will keep the area a few degrees cooler than the surrounding air.”

“Oh, goody.” She smiled.

Kresso stripped off his suit and settled against the massive white wood headboard. She swallowed the sudden rush of saliva, and when he beckoned to her, she jolted forward, and a soft whine came from her throat. He was shiny gold, and his muscles gleamed invitingly.

“Come here, Lyra. I want to take in your scent and rub you all over me.”

She looked over her shoulder. “What about Mahel?”

“He has to wait,” Kresso growled.

She scowled as the growl made her uneasy, and she stepped away from him.

He grinned, and she found herself in his lap.

“How did you... I didn’t see you move.” She felt a hot throbbing against her thigh.

“I promise that I will move slowly from here on in.” He chuckled.

“So, isn’t this... uh... mean to Mahel?”

Kresso chuckled. “He should have been faster. I could have taken seventy-five of your targets and destroyed the rest, but I took pity on him and let him beat up the others for their tokens.”

Mahel murmured, “Kresso being ahead of me kept me moving fast. His speed was legendary, and it seems he has resurrected it for you.”

“But I will use it for you and not with you.” Kresso chuckled. “Now, mate, I would like a kiss from you.”

She looked at him with his glittering green eyes focused on her. “Are you coming down, or do I stand up? Your junk may be in danger if I do.”

He smiled and threaded his hand in her hair. “I will always come to you if you need me to.”

Lyra was trying to think of a witty response to that when his lips touched hers. Her breath caught, and her blood surged in her veins. His lips moved over hers, and she sighed softly, leaning into him.

She licked at his lips, and his tongue teased hers. She pressed her hand to his chest and the other to his cheek. His skin was hot, and his muscles were tense. He had a lot of them, and they weren’t in a standard configuration. She wanted to look and stare and lick, but instead, she concentrated on not tensing up when his hand dragged her skirt up with his fingers on the inside of her right leg.

Lyra froze when his fingers found the slick between her thighs, and he moved his hand against her clit. The whine that came from her throat was hoarse, needy, and desperate.

He brushed his lips against hers. “That sounded fun.”

The shiver was a full-body experience. She whispered, “How is this going to work?”

“That is up to you, but I think getting you out of this dress is key to things moving on. Having seen your scans, I am actually eager to see all of you.”

She blushed. “I will get up and take it off.”

He chuckled and removed his fingers from between her thighs before slowly licking them. She saw claws.

“Where did the claws come from? You didn’t have them the day I met you.”

Mahel growled, “You two have met?”

She turned her head and looked at her other mate. “He was the physician who ran the scans on me when I first woke up. He explained my physiology to me. Not sex. Himmy explained that.”

Mahel was sitting in a chair near the door, and he was looking at her with focus. “She explained sex to you?”
