“Sorry to tell you this, but that ends today. I’m just going to have to lose out.” I turned to face the opposite direction, hoping once again, he’d get the hint. Instead, the fucker leaned in and went for gold.

“I’m dying to eat you out,” he whispered. His disgusting breath was hot against my ear and reeked of burnt garlic. “I promise you, one flick of my tongue on your clit will have you screaming.”

“Again, no thanks. Hard Pass. Dining room’s closed. Try your luck elsewhere.”

“You don’t know what you’re missing, beautiful. My tongue ismagical.I could make you come in seconds.”

“I’ll have to take your word for it, because as if all the other times weren’t clear enough, I’m not interested,” I insisted as I stupidly took yet another drink. The level five clinger and I kept at it, him promising me a night to remember and me adamantly refusing, telling him over and over that whatever he planned wasn’t going to happen. That I wanted nothing to do with him.

I had just about had enough and was starting to feel super itchy all over. My skin felt like I’d walked through a nettle patch, just like I had when my family went camping when I was a child. The room spun, alerting me to the fact that I had reached my intoxication limit. The uncomfortable itchiness had now made its way to my throat, making it hard to swallow. Apparently, I must have drank something that didn’t agree with me. Thinking that was the culprit, I made the executive decision to head home and load myself up on some antihistamines before crawling into bed. That talk with Travis would have to wait until I was sober and not scratching myself raw. I went to stand up so I could leave but suddenly, my head felt light and I swayed on my feet. The gross guy stood there as a wave of nausea swept over me and I lost all coordination. The world spun on its axis and down I went.

“Just wait, baby,” the sleazeball said as he gripped me about my waist. I felt him try to pull me to my feet, failing several times before he finally managed it.

“Let me go,” I moaned weakly. I tried to slap him, but failed because my entire body felt off. I no longer felt drunk. It was more like when I’d had an allergic reaction. Everything itched, making me miserably uncomfortable.

“Just wait, sweetheart. I’m going to make you feelsooo good.”

A shiver of revulsion tore down my spine. I tried to slap him away once more, but again, it was like my body was beyond my control. My heartbeat kicked up and I was frightened. I struggled to push myself away, but I was too weak and his grip was too strong.

“That’s a good girl. Come to Daddy.”

“Whoisthatdude? How the hell did he get in here?” Jason elbowed me and pointed towards the end of the bar. I didn’t need him to point the douche canoe out. My eye had been on him since the second he stepped up to Dee and started hitting on her. Visibly tipsy, Dee spent the last hour moving up and down the bar trying to avoid his advances, but the Jersey Shore reject was persistent. No matter where she went, he followed. So far, I’d left her alone. Dee could handle herself and I didn't want to overstep. That's I’d given her space, but that didn't mean I didn't keep her within my sights.

“I don’t know, but I’m about to kick his ass if he doesn’t get the fuck away from her.” I growled as the dude in question reached out to touch her hair. Dee dodged the move by flipping the errant lock over her shoulder.

That was it. I’d had enough. Legal career be damned. Getting arrested would be worth it if it meant keeping his grimy paws off my girl.

Sensing I was about to beat some ass, Jason laid a hand on my shoulder and calmly said, “Let me go find Ty and have security take care of him. After all, it's Ty’s club and I’m pretty sure he won’t be happy to learn that some schmuck snuck into a private party without an invitation. I’m also sure he doesn’t want anyone to causing a scene since the club just opened. So, let me go get Ty to take care of it.”

“He better dosomethingor I’m going to ruin your party.” I tossed the last of my whiskey back. It had been my only drink tonight, although right now, I’d wished I hadn’t decided to limit my intake. A drunken beatdown sounded good right now and suddenly, I was itching for a fight.

“You stay here and please try not to hit him while I’m gone. Think you can do that?” Jason watched me as if to assure himself I wouldn’t do something stupid. I jerked my head as if I was saying yes when I really wasn’t. With Jason gone, I kept my eyes targeted on the douchebag currently hovering over Dee. It took almost every bit of my willpower to not go over there and punch his face in, especially when he did this thing where it looked like he stretched his arm out. I could swear he slipped something into her drink, but it could have just been a flex to show off his non-existent muscles. The guy would have to be an idiot to try to slip her something. Besides, the bartender had been standing right there and I’m sure he would have spoken up if he thought anything was amiss.

Twenty some minutes later, Jason had yet to return and I was on the verge of tying myself to the chair to keep from storming over to them. So far, Dee had held her own, but something seemed off. She kept scratching herself. Even from where I sat, I could see the red splotches forming on her creamy skin. I guess the alcohol had chosen that moment to hit her, and hard.

Suddenly, Dee stumbled as she tried to get up from where she sat. I watched in horror as she collapsed to the ground. I was on my feet and moving towards her before I knew what I was doing. I was still several feet away when the guy bent down, picked her up, and whispered something to her. Dee tried to slap him, but her arm looked like a flailing spaghetti noodle. Wearing a sly grin, the guy slipped his hand around her waist while the other moved up to cup her boob.

My fist flew out and connected with his jaw the second I got close enough. The dick’s head snapped back, causing him to lose his grip on Dee. Seething, I punched him again. Not expecting the first blow, and certainly not the second, her would-be pursuer fell backwards while I caught my precious girl and anchored her to me.

“Dee?” I looked down to find her eyes were closed. My gut twisted painfully seeing her body limp. “It’s okay, baby,” I whispered as I picked her up bridal style. “It’s okay. I’ve got you. I promise I won’t let him or anyone hurt you.”

“Hey? Is she alright?” The bartender who’d served her most of the night asked as I stepped around her stalker.

“I'm not sure, no thanks to you!” I snarled. “Keep your eyes open when you're working, pal. You need to keep an eye on jerks like him!” I didn’t stay to hear his reply. Instead, I tightened my grip, holding Dee closely, and began looking around for a familiar face. I finally found one when Runa stepped off the dance floor, laughing as she made her way towards the bar. Runa blanched the second her eyes landed on her sister.

“Oh my god!” she shouted. “What the hell happened? Is she okay?” Runa quickly closed the distance between us and immediately started checking her sister over. Runa had limited medical training, Dee had told me once that it was thanks to Runa’s volunteer work at a local nursing home during high school.

“She passed out from all the alcohol she had tonight. I don’t know if you saw it, but she was drinking like a fish as she tried to play keep away with this jerk that just wouldn't leave her alone.” I jerked my head towards the guy in question.

“The one wearing the red silk shirt?” Runa’s words came out slower than normal as a result of her imbibing tonight, but dripping with venom.

“Yeah.” I didn’t bother to glance back at him. His sudden outburst drew people’s attention. I barely heard him cursing someone out. Most likely security because I could hear Ty ordering them to detain the guy until the police arrived.

“This is how she ends up each time she goes overboard.”
