“Shh,” I hissed sweetly as I savored the hard, chiseled comfort of his naked torso against my cheek. “You don’t have to apologize. I know you’re sorry, and I forgive you. And for what it's worth, I'm sorry too.”

“You do? You forgive me?”

I nodded. “I know you were scared, and that’s okay. That’s why I forgave you as soon as you were out the door.”

“Why?” he asked as if my forgiving him was a foreign concept.

“That’s what you do when you love someone. You forgive them."

“God, I love you. I know I’ve said it before, but how the hell did I get so lucky?”

He swaddled me in his embrace. A place I never wanted to leave. “We’re both lucky. We love each other, and somehow, we found each other in this big, crazy world. I’d be stupid to throw that away.”

Travis chuckled. The vibration of his laugh tickled my cheek. I pulled back just as he leaned down and swept his lips over mine. My eyes fluttered closed as I savored the taste of him.

“I’ve missed you,” he whispered, brushing the backs of his knuckles across my cheek.

“I’ve missed you too,” I sighed back. “But I’ve got to ask you something.”

“Anything.”

“Why aren’t you wearing a shirt?”

“I’ve been sitting here all night hoping you’d show up. I never put one on after I came home last night and changed.”

“Ah, yes. Casey told me how Jason found you sitting at the Chophouse's bar and that the two of you had a little talk.”

“We did. He helped me get some clarity on a few things.”

“And what would those be?”

Travis smiled again before dropping another kiss to my lips. “Now that’s wheremywish comes in.”

“You’ve got a wish too?” The sweetest man in the world surprised me down to the soles of my feet.

“I do. Would you like to know what it is?”

“Yes.”

“My wish is you.”

“Me?” I sounded as if I were shocked. I wasn’t. I was flattered and if I didn’t already love the man, I’d fall in love with him right then and there.

“Yes, you. My wish is you, Deandra Cavanaugh. My wish is to love you every single day for the rest of my life. Do you think you can be my personal love genie and grant me that?”

Smiling like the lovestruck idiot I was, I rose up onto my tiptoes and planted a scorcher onto his lips. One that rivaled the one he’d laid on me outside the baseball stadium.

“I think I like how you work your magic, Genie,” he teased, causing me to giggle against his mouth.

“And I like you, Mr. Knock-my-socks-off-baseball-stadium-kisser. In fact, I don’t just like you. I love you.”

“I love you too, Dee. I love you so much and again, I’m so sorry for acting like such an asshole. I’m also really glad you gave me time to get my head back on straight.”

“I’d do anything for you, Travis. Just like I know you’d do anything for me.”

Travis and I spent the next few hours eating, laughing, and fooling around on every surface across the house. We'd started in the living room, making out on the couch until Travis got tired of picking cereal bits from my hair. Leaving the living room behind, we left a trail of clothes on the way to his office where my man had every intention of christening his desk. His plans were thwarted by a single cat turd laying in the center.

"I'm going to get rid of that damned cat," Travis growled as he lifted me off the desk and shifted us over to the nearby couch.
