A smile creeps across his lips. “And until then?”

I shrug. “Set the bitch up in the outhouse.”

Behind our clubhouse, we have some outhouses. One we use for dealing with people who have wronged us. Another is used as a body shop—it’s where we fix our bikes while at the clubhouse. There are a few outbuildings that are heated and fit for someone to stay in. It’ll be the best place to put Pepper until she gives birth.

“I’ll set it up,” he grunts.

I leave him be. There’s no point pushing it while he’s in this mood. Having her at the clubhouse means that not only will we be able to keep the bitch in line, but also, the old ladies will too, and knowing them, they’ll ensure they visit with her daily. Hell, maybe even twice a day.

She won’t be able to get away with her shit any longer.

I smirk. No doubt Pepper is going to fucking hate it. She’ll be confined until the birth. Her days of doing as she pleases are over. Not one of us will give a fuck that she’s holed up alone.

Just four more months, and then the bitch is gone and my brother is freed from her bullshit.

CHAPTER NINE

CHLOE

Awhimper escapes my lips as four men enter the room. I’ve lost count of the days that I’ve been here. I’m locked in a damn basement and the days have all blurred together. My hope vanished a while ago. I know I’m dying in this room. The only solace I have is that the men haven’t raped me.

I know that’s because of the deal they have with the Kelly’s. The men of that family are animals. They’re vicious and cruel. I’m far from stupid. I know what my family does and who they are, but the Kelly’s are in a whole other world. They don’t have a moral code they live by, and they believe they’re untouchable.

I’m still tied at my hands and ankles. Thankfully, there’s a long shirt that covers me. One of the men felt sorry for me and dressed me in it. I should have been grateful, but I wasn’t. How could I be? He still left me here to die.

“This bitch,” a deep, gravelly voice says as its owner enters the room. It’s filled with so much hate that I flinch at the tone. I’ve never heard someone have so much venom in their voice. “She’s cost us a fuckin’ lot. Her family aren’t goin’ to stop lookin’ for her. Who’d have known the mutt was mafia royalty?”

His words would have sparked hope in me mere days ago, but now, after all that’s happened, I know there’s no hope for me. My family may be looking for me, but there’s no way for them to know where I am.

“Well, they should have thought of that before they took her from the Kelly’s.” The one on the right laughs. He’s a fat man with deep brown eyes and wavy, light-brown hair. “It’s time to end this. Uncle Sean will want to know that it’s done.”

I gape at him. Uncle Sean? What the fuck?

He chuckles deeply at me. “Poor Chloe. You had no idea that we’re related? But it wouldn’t matter, would it? You’ve turned your back on your real family. You disowned the Kelly’s. According to you, we’re nobody’s.”

I swallow hard. That’s the last message I sent to Sean Sr. I told him he was nobody to me. This is really his revenge. He’s doing this because I didn’t want to be part of their family.

“What are you going to do to me?” I ask, wondering if they’ll ever tell me.

He laughs as he turns away. “We’re done with you,” he snarls. “We’ve kept our end of the bargain. Every fucker in Dublin has scurried across the pond to find you. Now, Uncle Sean can finally become who he was always meant to be.”

“Oh? And who’s that?” I ask, trying to figure out what the hell is going on. I still can’t get my head around all of this. It makes no sense.

“The King of Dublin.” He grins.

I can’t help but laugh. The thought alone is ludicrous. Does he truly believe he’ll be the leader of Dublin? Even if all my family weren’t there, it would never happen.

He takes two strides toward me, and I manage to brace myself just in time. He viciously backhands me across my mouth. My lip splits open, and blood trickles from it, down to my chin. I don’t cry out. I don’t give him the satisfaction.

These men have branded, beaten, and tortured me. There’s not an inch of my body they haven’t attacked. Their cruelty knows no bounds. But I’m still alive. I’m just not sure for how much longer.

The bastard moves toward the door. “She’s all yours, brothers,” he tells the men who are left.

Everything in me freezes at his words. No, God, please no. I don’t think I could survive it if they raped me. Bile burns in my stomach as the men inch toward me.

“Don’t worry, bitch,” one of them snarls at me. “We won’t touch you,” he tells me as he unsnaps the buttons to his fly.

I hear zips descending and belt buckles jingling. My breathing deepens as I struggle to take in oxygen. What’s going to happen?
