My stomach clenches at the woman who’s smiling back at me in the picture. Chloe. Fuck. What’s happened?

“Who’s the woman?” I ask. I’m trying to play it cool, but inside, I’m burning with rage. Makenna wouldn’t be here with her picture if something hadn’t happened. I snatch the picture from Prez’s hand and stare at the woman who captured me from the moment I saw her. A woman I haven’t forgotten about.

“That’s my niece, Chloe. She’s missing, and I need your help finding her.”

I fucking should have known. She’s Mafia Royalty. Everything pointed at it. She’s Denis Gallagher’s daughter.

My gut churns. Where the fuck is she?

“How long has she been gone?” Ace asks with a nod, letting her know we’re helping.

No matter what, we’re finding her. Chloe’s mine. She has been since I saw her. When I find her, I ain’t letting her go.

“Twelve days,” she hisses. “Twelve fucking days, Ace, with not a single word.”

“Okay,” I growl. “Where was she last seen?” I need to find out where the fuck I’m starting my search from.

Makenna runs a hand through her blonde hair. “Indianapolis. She was in the car with Elio Gallo when the car was in an accident. Chloe was taken, and we’ve not been able to find out who has her.”

Why the fuck was she in a car with him? “Okay, so has there been any sightin’ since?”

“None. We have three families with all the power behind them. How have we not had any news?” she asks. “Someone with major hitting power has her, Ace, and to find her, we’re going to need everyone we can get.”

“We’ll ride in the mornin’,” Ace assures her. “We’ll meet you at the Gallagher mansion for a debrief tomorrow.”

“Thanks, Ace. I owe you.”

“This is what family does,” I say as I turn away and walk back toward the clubhouse. The picture of Chloe is still in my hands. I know that as soon as Makenna is gone, Ace is going to want answers. No matter what, we’re finding Chloe. There’s no other option.

I move through the clubhouse and toward my room, my gaze fixated on the picture. She’s fucking beautiful. Her smile is as bright as her eyes. She looks as though she’s laughing. Fuck. Knowing that she’s been gone twelve days is fucking gutting.

Once I’m in my room, I kick the door closed, put the picture of Chloe into my wallet, and pull out my cell phone.

“Hello?” a deep, British voice answers. Kelvin Acaster is the man who knows every cop, informant, drug dealer, and whore in Indiana. The man keeps his nose clean by staying out of people's business, but if he needs to, he’ll step in. He’s a silent player, with only those closest to him knowing his true identity. The fucker is smart and dangerous, hence why he’s my first call.

“I need your help,” I answer, my voice thick and barely controlled.

“Been a long time, Py. You know no matter what you need, I got you.”

Gratitude hits me deep in my chest. It’s been years since I last saw Kelvin, but as always, the man has my back, just as I have his if he ever needs me.

After losing my parents, I met a lot of different people from all walks of life, though there are only a few I have stayed in contact with. Kelvin is without a doubt the most dangerous and powerful one.

“My woman’s missing. She was taken twelve days ago while traveling to Indianapolis. No one knows where she is or who’s got her.”

The silence is deafening. “Your woman is catching some heat, brother. I heard the mumblings that she’s gone. Someone has it out for her for sure.”

I glance at my boots as his words hit hard. What the fuck? When I find out who’s got her, they’re in for a world of hurt.

“My woman is fuckin’ sweet, Kelvin. No way in hell she’s got enemies.” I may have only known Chloe for less than twenty-four hours, but I know she’s not someone to fuck around enough to earn enemies. I’m rarely wrong about people, and I know I’m not wrong about Chloe.

He makes a deep noise in his throat. “Someone sure has it out for her, brother. Twelve days… The woman is mafia royalty. I know exactly who Chloe Gallagher is. The moment she went missing, she popped up on my radar. The state is in a fucking frenzy, as is Chicago. You know those Irish have brought their entire family out here. Fuckers aren’t playing around.”

“You know an awful lot about my woman.”

His chuckle is deep, and it pisses me off. “Relax, brother, I’m not poaching. When shit goes down in my state, I find out everything.”

I pinch the bridge of my nose, trying to stop the headache from coming. “Do you know who has her?”
