He holds my hips tightly as he thrusts into me. His cock stretches me as he enters my pussy. Each move sends shocks of pleasure throughout my body. His size fills me completely, and I surrender myself to him. God, nothing is better than this.

Our breath mingles as he increases his pace. Every deep plunge takes me closer to the edge. He grunts with effort and desire, his teeth bared as he hammers into me.

I’m nearing the brink of pleasure. “So close,” I breathe, needing him to take me over the edge.

His movements increase in intensity, and I feel my entire body tense as my orgasm rocks through me. My head falls back against the pillow, and I cry out in pleasure as it washes over me and my muscles contract around his thickness.

His grunts get louder with each thrust, until he slams into me one last time. He stills inside of me and comes. His head dips to my shoulder as we both gasp for air.

All that has happened since we first met makes me wonder if we’ll be able to continue this. Are James and I destined to be together? But what happens when it’s time for me to return to Ireland? James’ life is here. His family, his club, his brothers. How can I expect him to pack up his life and leave that behind? I wouldn’t want to do it myself. I shouldn’t ask him to.

Maybe James and I are just not meant to be.

But why does that thought hurt so damn much? Why does it feel as though my heart would break if I were to say goodbye to him?

“Hey,” he says softly, his gaze fixed on mine. “Whatever you are thinkin’ about, stop. We’re just focusin’ on the here and now.”

I guess I’m not the only one who’s thinking about the future and what’s going to happen once our lives return to normal.

“So does this mean you’ll ease up somewhat?”

His lips twitch, and he sighs as he pulls out of me and collapses onto the bed “Yes, I’ll ease up. But fuck, I’ll spank your ass if you hurt yourself.”

Heat pools between my legs at his words.

“You want that?” he asks thickly.

I shrug. “I don’t know. You know as well as I do that you’re all that I know, James. But I’m not sure if I’ll like the pain.”

“You don’t like it, we won’t do it.”

I smile and press against him. “My entire life, my da has always been my protector. Until you. How did I get so lucky to find a man like you?”

His body shakes as he chuckles. “Little Bird, I’m not a good man. I’m far fuckin’ from it.”

I place my hand against his chest. He’s still in his t-shirt and it’s a little wet with sweat.

“I never said you were. I’m not stupid. I know what happens in a motorcycle club. You’re forgetting who my family is. Sometimes, James, those who aren’t ‘good’.” I use quotation marks because I think it’s bullshit that he’s not good. My da does some horrific things, but to me, he’s the best man I know. “Those are the men who are the greatest. Just because you do bad things, it doesn’t mean you’re a bad person. Far from it.”

Silence spreads between us. “Whatever you say, baby.”

One day, I’d love for him to realize that he’s not the big bad wolf he makes himself out to be. He’s treated me better than a lot of people would have, and I love him for that.

“I need a shower. Will you help me?”

I laugh when he climbs off the bed without a sound and lifts me into the air. “Like you have to ask.”

Leaving him will kill me. I’m falling so hard for him. Hell, I think I’ve already fallen.

CHAPTER TWENTY-ONE

PYRO

“You good?” Ace asks as I walk into his office. I’ve got a custom ride to be built. My brothers have picked up the slack while I’ve been focused on Chloe, but I need to get this ride done.

I nod. “Fine. Just waitin’ for word that they’ve got that fucker.” I hate that I’ve had to leave her in the clubhouse, but I have to do my job.

He smirks. “You’ve been hoverin’ over the poor girl since she got here. You gotta let her breathe, man.”
