I bite back a smile and show her just how mature I am by giving her the finger.

“Oh Logan. Just promise to be good if you do see her again.”

“Ahhh.” I can’t commit to that. I refuse.

Lucy’s head falls back as she groans. “Ugh! Men. Come on, walk me to her office,” she says, heading off in the direction I just came from.

“Only because you asked so nicely,” I deadpan, following behind her.

When I get back to my apartment after running some of my own errands, my smoking-hot neighbor is opening her door at the same time I am. I first noticed her on my move-in day, but had no idea she lived so close. Only that she was in this building. Call it a bonus.

I catch her attention without meaning to, and she pauses with her key in the lock, shamelessly raking her eyes all over me, drinking me in. When her gaze reaches my eyes, I wink before opening my door and stepping inside.Looks like I moved into the perfect apartment.

I’m midway through a weight session an hour later when there’s a knock at my door.Who could that be? I’m not expecting anyone…please, be my hot neighbor.

Pulling my tee off over my head, I wipe the sweat off my face before moving toward the entry. My phone rings once before cutting off, so I grab it on the way past and open the door in nothing but my workout shorts, assuming it is the woman I saw earlier. But it’s even better. Standing in front of me is not one hot neighbor, but two, and I have to bite back a groan at the visual my mind conjures up.Yep. It’s official…this place is my home. It’s perfect for me.

“Hey, there,” I say, leaning my shoulder against the frame, a cocky grin in place.

The brunette that I saw earlier smiles, while her blonde friend giggles.

“I’m Kaitlin and this is Skye. We heard you playing guitar yesterday and wanted to meet a fellow artist.”

My eyes light up because music speaks to my soul. If you ever want to make an impression on me, music or surfing will do it.

“I’m Logan. Nice to meet you both. You play?” I ask, always interested in meeting those that do, especially when they might want to dootherthings too.

Kaitlin shakes her head and laughs. “God, I wish. Not a musical bone in my body. But I draw.”

O…kay. Didn’t she just say—

“Anyway, the college has a creative space set up on Thursday evenings for any and all artists to mingle. They usually get a big turnout and we wanted to invite you along to…get to know people that you might want to get creative with.”

I read between the lines of her comment and hope that I’m right. Because if I am, I’m here for it.

“Thursday night, you say?”

Both girls smile like I’ve just offered them a golden ticket to the chocolate factory, and then the blonde—Skye, I think—hands me a bit of paper. “Here are the details, but we could all go together.”

“Sounds perfect. You should stop by on your way; maybe we can hang out here before we go?”

Kaitlin nibbles at her lip with a questioning look, considering my idea.

“Or we could hang out now?” she says with a coy grin.

Now that’s an idea.

I’m about to say yes when my phone buzzes again—this time for a text—drawing my eyes briefly to the screen. But as soon as I see Dani’s name staring back at me, I pause.Well, well, well. Has she figured it out already?

Without thought, I open the message and bark out a laugh as I read, picturing her cute little shrug at the end.

Dani: Sorry, I didn’t mean to call you. Ignore that. Just wanted to say thanks. For the donation. Text not say. So, thanks

“Logan?” someone asks, drawing my attention, and I realize my neighbors are still in front of me.Jesus. How did that happen?

“Sorry about that? What were we saying?”

“We were wondering if you wanted to hang out now, as well as Thursday.”
