Logan squeezes me tighter, pressing a kiss to my head. “I’m not even cold,” he laughs. “But thank you for worrying about me.”

I playfully shove him away, letting my hand linger on his tattoo-covered chest, before pulling back to readjust my towel. “Are you going back out there? You didn’t get much of a surf,” I ask, as my body finally starts to feel normal again.

“Nah, I’m good. I’d much rather spend the extra time with you.”

And he does just that.

We spend the next hour talking about everything or nothing until we collectively fall silent.

I’m staring up at the sky, finding shapes in the clouds, when I hear a soft click from beside me, and when I look over, Logan has his camera out and pointed in my direction, his gaze locked on the image window.

“Ahh, whatcha doing?” I ask, my nose scrunched.

“Capturing memories. It’s what I do.”

I bite back a smile when his expression stays in concentration mode. “This isn't what you do at all. You’re a sports photographer. I’m the least sporty person on the planet.”

“Not true. You’re a surfer now, andyou work for a college football team. I’d say that’s pretty sporty.”

I roll my eyes and toss my hand in the air as I hear another click.

“Hey! You better delete that one.”

“I happen to like live action shots. That’s why I shoot sports.”

I’m about to give him a smart-ass response, but stop, rolling over to rest my head on my arm instead while offering him a cutesy smile. “How’s this?” I bat my eyelashes.

“Cute. But I’ve already got the shot I was after, so you can put your posing skills away.”

As if anticipating my move, Logan hides the camera behind his back at the same time I rise to my knees. “What shot, Logan?”

“Don’t worry.” He smiles, and it’s actually more genuine than cocky. “It’s perfect.”

My brows rise. “Even if you do say so yourself.”

“Actually, the shot could use some work.”

“Oh and—”

“It’s the subject matter that’s perfect.”

Well, that shuts me up and has the butterflies fluttering. I have no smart-ass comment for that. “Thank you,” I say as my heart skips a beat.

Logan smiles. “Does that mean I can take more?” he asks, bringing the camera back between us.

“Absolutely not,” I say as my hands cover my face. “Put that thing away.”

Chapter Seventeen

Logan

Theimageloads, andI can’t stop the smile from spreading across my face. Dani’s always been beautiful, from the second I saw her, but she’s always had this edge to her, something holding her back from showing her full self. Finding out about her fiancé made a lot of sense, but even after she’d talked to me about it, she still kept something of herself back. Until today. Today felt different. There was a new playfulness to her. A spark. And when I saw her there, looking up to the sky, completely content to justbe, I had to capture the moment.

I wasn’t lying when I said the resulting image was perfect. She’sperfect…in an imperfect way. And I can’t for the life of me get her out of my head. Especially now that I’ve tasted her lips, felt her body against mine, and heard her moans in my ear. I want more. And not just in a one and done kind of way. It’s freaking me out if I’m being honest.

I’m still staring at the image of Dani—lying on the sand, her messy hair blowing in her face—when my phone rings, and Summer’s name lights up the screen.

I answer with my smile still locked in place. “Sum, how are you?”
