Her breath hitched, and she turned her head slightly, but it was enough so I could press my lips against hers. The kiss wasn’t sweet. It was hungry and hard and everything we needed it to be to work out the anger and frustration we both felt for too damn long. She turned quickly and pushed her hands under the hem of my T-shirt, pushing me back and breaking our kiss so she could push the shirt up my chest. Reaching behind me, I grabbed the collar and pulled it off, groaning when her lips landed on my throat.

Reaching between us, I slid my hands beneath the waistband of her pants and shoved them down, my mind only able to focus on getting her naked skin beneath my fingers. With her pants and panties off, I lifted her to sit on the top of the dresser, pushing to stand between her legs and kissing her with all the hunger I’d been holding back for years. She moaned and reached between us to unsnap my jeans, but I was already there. I needed inside her. I needed her to feel all I’d been holding back and all I couldn’t put into words.

I laid my palms along her thighs and groaned when she wrapped her hands around my cock. Fuck, I was hard, so hard it was almost painful. That was what she did to me. She’d been doing it for years, but she hadn’t known that. Sliding my hands along her thighs, I ran my thumbs along her wet slit and relief flooded me. She was just as ready as I was.

She threw her head back against the wall and panted. “Now.”

I lined up my cock, and with a hard thrust, I pushed inside and let the sensations overwhelm me. Nothing in my life ever felt like this. With one hand wrapped around her hip, I shoved the other into her hair and looked deep into her eyes. “I can’t go slow.”

She wrapped her long legs around my waist and tilted her body back. “Good.”

With a grin, I squeezed her hip and thrust hard and fast, encouraged by Becs’s low moans and the feel of her nails scoring my back. I shifted slightly and felt her squeeze me tight before she pressed her lips to mine. She was trying to be quiet, and I understood why, but I wanted her to scream my name. I wanted to know that I was giving her so much pleasure that she couldn’t control her reaction.

It only took a few more thrusts for her to give me everything I wanted.

Chapter 34

Race

Jumping down from my truck, I crossed the parking lot toward the offices of Dimarco Construction. I’d been at work since six this morning and hadn’t heard a word from Ben, which made me nervous that our plans weren’t going to happen. It was a long shot, but it was the only one we had, and the more I considered the idea of a racetrack, the more excited I got. I’d even thought it could give my dad a job and a purpose if he followed through on his promise to come to New Hope. I had a lot invested in this idea, and when I finally got the text from Ben to meet him in his office, I’d hurried from the jobsite.

I called Becs and told her what was going on. She offered to come, but I said no. She was on her way to pick up Wyatt from Maggie, and he needed to get home. However, I wanted her there. We’d made progress last night, although I knew we still had a long way to go. After she’d given me one of the hardest orgasms of my life, we both got dressed and went to Gunner’s room to pick up Wyatt. Gunner didn’t say anything, but his smirk made it obvious that he’d heard us. Becs slapped him on the arm when we were leaving, which made him snort out a laugh, but we still didn’t acknowledge what had happened.

We’d gone home, and I spent the rest of the day with the two most important people in my life, and then I spent the entire night wrapped up in Becs. Neither of us got much sleep, but we didn’t care. I woke her up throughout the night, and she returned the favor this morning, almost as if we needed the physical connection to remind us that we finally had each other. We didn’t have the words yet, but maybe we didn’t need them.

Pushing through the door to the office building, I attempted to clear my mind while walking toward Ben’s office. I was barely to the door when I heard voices. My eyebrows drew together when it was obviously more than one or two. Knocking on the door, I waited to hear “come in” before pushing it open and stepping inside.

“Just in time.” Ben grinned from behind his desk.

I scanned the room and saw that Jake, Ben, and their cousin Cole were all gathered around the desk. Only after I shut the door and Cole shifted to the side did I see Jax was also there.

“You alright, man?” Jake asked. “You look nervous as hell.”

“Can’t figure out if you’re all here because we’re celebrating something or because we need to think of a new plan,” I explained.

Jax chuckled, and I took that as a good sign, but Ben spoke. “Met with the council today and talked to them regarding that property.”

“And…” I encouraged him to continue.

“Before we talk about that, we have something to go over with you.”

“Okay,” I replied slowly.

Ben crossed his arms over his chest. “Talked to Jake, and we both agreed we’ll do whatever we can to keep the Widows or Bianco from getting that ground. It’s bad for all of us if they do. That’s inviting people like Manny into our town, and I know we can all agree we don’t want that.”

“That was the easy part,” Jake added. “The hard part was figuring out what to offer and how to present it.”

“What did you decide?”

Ben put his hands on his hips. “We wanted to present them with our ideas without misleading them. Truthfully, I was concerned if we bullshitted them about what we wanted to do with the property, they might not be as willing to work with us on a purchase the next time, and I couldn’t take that chance. The town owns a lot of abandoned property around here. It was surprising to me to learn just how much, and pissing them off now could hurt our chances of obtaining that ground in the future.”

I shrugged. “Makes sense.”

“Right.” Ben nodded. “So we wanted to present the idea of building a racetrack for the community to enjoy. I pulled the plans for that ground and reviewed it with Jake. That’s when we realized that there’s enough property there for a small hotel as well, which the council would love because that would bring more revenue to our town. We bring people in for races, and all of a sudden, they’re eating in our restaurants and shopping.” He paused before continuing. “The hotel’s easy for us, but we don’t know shit about racetracks and we knew it wouldn’t be smart to admit we would be partnering with you guys because of all the recent shit that has gone down with the Widows.”

“I get that,” I admitted. “We talked about that yesterday with Jax. We know the Sinners reputation has taken a dive lately and are hoping this could help restore that.”

“Well, because of that,” Jake continued, “we decided to bring in someone else.”
