“I need a name,” Kyle said, but when I looked his way, his eyes were no longer on me. They were on the laptop screen in front of him.

I glanced at Jax, who nodded before I replied, “Sal Bianco.”

Jax frowned. “Anyone know that name?”

When no one seemed to, he turned to me. “He live in town?”

“No.” I shook my head. “He lives in Riverton.”

“That’s almost two hours away. How the hell did you meet?”

“At a bar a few years ago.” I shrugged. “We had some stuff in common, so when he asked me out, I said yes.”

“Why’d you stop dating?”

I faced Brody. “Honestly?” I asked, and he nodded. “I started to worry about my brother finding out.”

Jax shifted forward and placed his forearms on the table. “What aren’t you telling us?”

Sighing, I rolled my head back to stare at the ceiling before facing him again. “It might be nothing.”

“I’d rather know and find out it’s nothing than not know,” he pointed out. “I don’t like surprises, Becs, and if you’re going to ask me to keep this from Bear, you’ll need to be straight with us.”

Nodding, I leaned my elbows on the table. “One night, right before we broke up, he told me he had to deliver something to a friend. I said I didn’t care, but the farther we drove, I started to feel, I don’t know, anxious, I guess.”

“Where did he take you?”

I shifted my eyes to Brody. “An old warehouse building outside of Cranberry.”

His eyes narrowed when I mentioned the town that bordered our own. “Do you know who he was delivering to?”

“He said his name was Manny.”

“Dammit,” Brody swore, almost under his breath, before sitting back in his chair.

“You know what Manny does in that building?” Striker asked.

I shook my head. “Sal said he gave shooting lessons.”

“You the one who gave his name to Josie?”

My head snapped toward Kyle. “How did you know that?”

He gestured around the room. “Whatever goes on inside that building has been kept silent for a long time. Then we found out from Luke and Bear that Josie ended up there to take lessons. Just deductive reasoning.”

“Yeah, it was me,” I admitted shamefully. “I told her, and then I warned her not to go until she talked to Bear, but she didn’t listen. She did tell me she thought something shady was going on.”

“Bear ever find out you dated this guy?”

My eyes widened and landed on Striker. “Hell no.”

A few of the guys chuckled, but I noticed Jax wasn’t one of them when I heard his voice and shifted my attention back toward him. “Manny’s been on our radar for a few months now. He keeps a low profile. No one seems to know anything about him. We found out from Bear that he’s former military, but Kyle can’t find anything on him.”

“You got a last name?”

“No,” I admitted. “He only called him Manny.”

“I ran that name a hundred different ways and can’t find shit.” Kyle frowned. “Also can’t find anything incriminating on your guy.”
