I shifted my attention back to Jane. “It’s just nice to see her figuring out what she likes.”

Race snorted. “Even if it’s bad music?”

Chuckling, I took a drink from my cup. “Guess so.”

We watched them dance for a while, one pop song after another, until something sultry was played. I didn’t think Jane would dance to something like that—it didn’t fit with what I knew about her so far—but when she swayed her hips slowly and ran her hands along her sides, I realized how wrong I was. Her body moved in perfect rhythm with the music, her head thrown back, her hands moving all over her skin, and my body tightened. Fuck, she was sexy.

“Hey, Tank, is your girlfriend a stripper?”

Tearing my eyes from Jane, I faced a newer prospect and growled. “What the fuck did you say?”

He held up his hands and backed away. “Sorry, man, just sayin’ she’s a good dancer.”

My eyes flicked back to Jane after the prospect headed back into the crowd, but I heard Race’s voice next to me. “Can’t blame him for thinking that, man. She’s a hell of a dancer.”

“She’s not a stripper.”

“Fuck, no.” Bear agreed. “She’s better than any stripper I ever saw.”

“You may want to get her. Some think she’s with you, but the ones who don’t won’t be shy,” Race suggested, and he was right. The men in this MC liked to fuck around, and without Jane knowing it, she was giving them the green light.

I put my cup on the bar and moved across the lawn, pushing through the growing crowd until I got to Jane. I laid my hands on her hips, and she slowly opened her eyes, smiling when she saw me.

She wrapped her arms around my neck. “Did you come to dance with me?”

I groaned when she pressed her body against mine. “How about we take a break and get some water?”

Her face fell. “But I’m having fun.”

“We can come back,” I promised.

She dropped her eyes and nodded. I grabbed her hand and pulled her from the crowd. Some of the guys grumbled when they realized the show was over, and others cheered, probably under the assumption we were heading back to my room.

I led her into the kitchen, and she leaned her back against the island while I pulled a bunch of shit out of the refrigerator to grab a bottle of water. I opened it and handed it to her, pissed that she still hadn’t looked at me. Considering she was a good bit shorter than me, I couldn’t see her eyes, so I wrapped my palms around her hips and lifted her onto the counter.

She squealed, and her eyes met mine, but she didn’t speak, so I did. “That’s better.”

She took a small sip of water and swallowed. “What?”

“I can see your eyes now.”

Her face fell. “I’m sorry.”

I jerked back. “What for?”

“I embarrassed you.” She pointed at the hallway leading outside. “Out there.”

I shook my head. “You didn’t embarrass me. Why would you think that?”

She tilted her head slightly. “Because you brought me inside.”

Studying her for a minute, I took a few steps closer until I pressed against her knees. As I pushed against them, she slowly spread her legs so I could get between them and put us face-to-face. “You didn’t embarrass me. I got you out of there before you caused a fucking riot.”

Her forehead wrinkled. “I don’t understand.”

“You’re sexy as fuck when you dance, Jane. That’s dangerous here, especially because you’re not dating anyone, which means you’re fair game.”

It took a minute, but eventually, she seemed to understand because her eyes widened. “I’m not a good dancer. I tried dancing classes, but I wasn’t good enough.”
