She arched her back, giving me every indication she didn’t want me to stop. Sliding the top of her bra cup down, I ran my thumb over her nipple, and she pushed her back hard into my body. I could barely see her face. We stood off to the side of the bar, well in the shadows, with only the moonlight as our light, but I could imagine her expression, and I fucking loved it. Needing to know if she was as turned on as I was, I slid my hand into her panties and ran my finger along her slit. I growled when wetness coated my finger. She arched against me, and I pushed my palm down to cup her pussy. Turning her face, she pressed it into my neck and moaned loudly. Fuck, I couldn’t take this. I felt like I was about to explode. My cock was harder than steel, and the only thought in my mind was to turn her around, put her hands on the bar, rip down her pants, and get inside her.

I’d never felt this much need for anyone else. It didn’t matter what people called this—chemistry, desire, whatever—all I knew was that I couldn’t stop touching her.

Or wanting her.

I slid my middle finger along her slit until I could slide it inside her, and I fucking groaned. Suddenly, I didn’t want to do this with an audience. I wanted to be alone where I could have her naked and calling out my name while I did all the things I’d fantasized about.

I pulled my hand from her pants and fixed the cup of her bra before turning her to face me. “Ready to go in?”

Her eyelids were heavy, and I could see the arousal, just like I wanted, but I needed those eyes on me when I got inside her. She nodded, and I reached down, grabbed her hand, and headed for the clubhouse, only to be stopped by Bear just after we walked inside.

“I was just comin’ to find you.”

“Why?”

He glanced at Jane and then back at me. “Need to talk to you.”

He wouldn’t be asking me right now if it wasn’t important. Nodding, I pulled my keys to my room from my pocket and handed them to Jane. “Go ahead to my room. You remember where it is?” When she nodded, I continued, “I’ll be up soon.”

“Okay,” she said, her voice deeper than usual. “Night, Bear.”

“Night, honey.”

I watched her until she was up the stairs, then faced Bear. “What’s going on?”

He jerked his head to the left. “My office.”

I followed him inside, and he closed the door. My eyes shifted to the side, and I saw Josie sitting on the couch, but her eyes were locked on Bear. Confused, I faced Bear again. “I thought you were leaving.”

“We were,” he admitted. “But then Gunner stopped us on our way out to tell me that when he was in the garage earlier, just after we all went out to the bonfire, he watched a gray truck go up and down this road no less than five times.” He watched me carefully. “The kid who hit you have a gray truck?”

“Yep.” I nodded. “He get a plate?”

“Wrote down a partial.” Bear grabbed a piece of paper from his desk and handed it to me. “Called in a few favors. Had them run it every which way and no hits. The only thing we know for sure is it’s an Indiana plate. You know anyone in Indiana?”

I thought about that, but no one came to mind. “No one.”

“That’s what I figured.” Bear put his hands on his hips. “Talked to Hawk. He has feelers out, but he doesn’t think this is a Widow, and after this, I’d have to agree. Widows don’t have a chapter in Indiana.”

“So who the fuck is it?” I wondered aloud.

“No idea, brother, but we’ll figure it out.” He pointed at the door. “Didn’t want to ruin your night, but knew you needed this information.”

“Yeah,” I agreed. “Appreciate it.” I looked toward the door. “You leavin’?”

“Gonna stick around a little bit, make sure everyone’s gone, and then we’ll go.”

“Alright. See you tomorrow.”

He sat down behind his desk. “Let me know if anyone comes to mind.”

“Yeah.” I laid my hand on the doorknob but turned back to face Josie. “She okay? Saw you talkin’. Just want to make sure.”

Josie’s eyes flicked back and forth between Bear and me but finally landed on me. “She’s lost, Tank. I understand what she’s going through. I grew up the same way she did, except leaving didn’t mean I sacrificed everything I knew, so it’s worse for her. She would have to decide to leave, knowing she’s doing that completely alone.”

“You think she wants to leave?”

Josie tilted her head thoughtfully, and I knew she considered her words carefully. “She’s here, isn’t she?” Josie smiled sadly. “She just needs to realize what she’s capable of when she’s doing it on her own terms.”
