Page 68 of Wasted Time

“Do it all the time.” He grinned. “Good weekend for firsts.”

I glanced at the bed and then at him. “Won’t we get cold?”

“Nope.” He pulled the towel from his body and threw it on the chair. “Up to you.”

I watched him climb naked into bed and looked back at my bag. I wouldn’t have dreamed of sleeping naked at home because my mother walked in my bedroom all the time. She’d commented a few times because I like to sleep in a shirt and just my underwear, but I never wore less than that. Now that I have my own place, I could, but I wouldn’t. What if there was an emergency?

Chewing on the inside of my cheek, I turned to face Tank who was sitting with his back against the headboard with his eyes on me. “What if there’s a fire or something?”

“We got alarms. You’ll have time to cover up.”

I gestured toward the door. “What if someone comes in?”

“No one’s coming in here without knocking.” He pointed at the door handle. “Plus, I locked it.”

Reaching over, I double-checked the lock and then paused. Was I going to do this? I knew Tank wasn’t going to persuade me either way. He wanted me to make my own choices, which I appreciated. This one shouldn’t be this hard, but I was hesitating.

“Why do you like sleeping naked?” I asked.

“Feels good.”

“That’s the only reason?”

“Usually, I sleep naked because I don’t like anything getting twisted. I can sleep more freely,” he replied, but then his stare became more intense. “Tonight, I want to sleep naked so there’s nothing between us. When I wake up hard, I don’t have to fuck around with getting your clothes off. But if you’re not comfortable with that, put clothes on. Either way, we are far from done tonight, princess.”

Swallowing hard, I imagined the picture he painted, and I liked it. I wanted him to have access to me throughout the night, but more than that, I wanted to have access to him. Walking slowly toward the bed, I dropped my towel and climbed beneath the covers.

Tank slid down beside me. “How does that feel?”

I pulled the covers over my breasts. “Weird.”

He chuckled. “Give it a minute.”

I wiggled my butt against his sheet and had to admit I liked how the cool sheets felt against my skin, but then something occurred to me, and I quickly turned my head toward him. “Are your sheets clean?”

“I’m the only one who sleeps here.”

I narrowed my eyes. “That wasn’t what I asked.”

He rolled to face me and slid his arm under the covers, wrapping it around my waist. Then he moved me so we were face-to-face. “Haven’t had anyone in this bed since I met you, and Bear has the prospects wash the sheets every couple of weeks. That good enough for you?”

I considered that, but only one thought stayed in my mind. “Haven’t had anyone here since you met me?”

His lips tipped in a grin. “Nope.”

“You mean…” I thought back. “About seven months ago?”

“That’s when I met you,” he verified.

I returned his grin and slid a little closer. “That was a long time ago.”

“Yeah, it was.”

“Why haven’t you been with anyone since you met me?”

His grin grew. “Why do you think?”

I ran my finger down his naked chest. “Because you like me?”
