Ash is waiting along the curb in his car. He must get sick of me just staring at him because he rolls his window down.

“Get in. We need to talk.”

ChapterTwenty

Iwatch as Gracie stands on her porch gaping at me. She crosses her arms and tries not to fidget.

“Seriously, Gracie, get the fuck in the truck,” I grumble, and she rolls her eyes. Resting her hands on her hips, she purses her lips and shakes her blonde hair. She looks nice today, and that pisses me off.

I saw my traitorous friends leave about twenty minutes ago, and the fact they stayed the whole night is not helping my imagination. I know what Gracie can be like in bed, and with three of them there, I can imagine they didn’t get any sleep.

“How do I know that if I climb in that truck with you, you won’t just kill me and dump my body in the lake? I have no reason to trust you, Ash, so give me one,” she says, then looks back toward her front door.

“Don't even think about it, Gracie. I can just walk right inside and take you. We need to talk, so get into the goddamn truck,” I growl, and she sighs, pulling out her phone and texting someone.

I'm assuming she's letting somebody know she's getting into the truck with me, and if something were to happen to her, I’m the culprit. If you had asked me last week, I’d have said it was a total possibility, but now I'm not so sure.

She waits for a reply and then slowly shuffles down the sidewalk and over to the driveway where I'm idling. Opening the door, she climbs in but doesn’t shut it.

“I can't drive unless you shut the door,” I tell her, and she rolls her eyes.

“Oh no, we're not leaving the property. We can talk right here, right now.” She thinks she’s so cute.

I chuckle under my breath, put the car in reverse, then peel out of the driveway, making Gracie squeal.

“What the fuck are you doing, Ash?” she yells at me, and I roll my eyes at her dramatics.

“Shut the damn door so we can get this over with,” I growl, watching her blue eyes widen. I must have stared for too long because Gracie squeals for me to keep my eyes on the road.

She shuts the door and buckles up, gripping the O Shit Bar.

“Okay, you have me here. What now? she barks, and I can tell she's on edge. I laugh and shake my head.

“If you think we're going to have a chat in this truck, you are dead wrong. No, I'm taking you somewhere special.”

“I knew I should have never gotten into this damn truck with you; you're going to kill me, aren't you?”

“What the fuck? Have you gone crazy? Why the hell would I kill you? I was completely wrecked when I thought that you had died. You were in a coma for months, so no, I'm not trying to fucking kill you. I just want to have a fucking conversation,” I snap.

Yes, I wanted revenge, but it was never going to end with her in a damn body bag.

She sighs, “I don't know what you're talking about, Ash, but I have to get to school. People are going to be looking for me.”

I chuckle, but it's not with mirth. “What, you mean my friends? My brothers? The ones who were in your bed all night?”

She sucks in a breath, and her cheeks turn red. “Oh, Dollface, did you think I didn't know that? Dom texted me, bragging all about your little nightly activities,” I lie.

“I don't know what you're talking about,” she whispers, but I notice a tear falling from her eye.

“Sure you don't, doll. Sure you don't,” I coo. I should be happy that I’m making her upset and question what she has going on with my friends, but I don’t. If anything, I’m fucking pissed.

“So tell me did you learn about King’s kink? Or did Dom tie you to the bed with the gift I bought you? You always were a little freak,” I say with a smirk. Her face is pale, and she’s breathing hard.

She rolls down her window, and I can tell she's sweating.

“Fine, don't tell me, but before we leave here today, I will know every secret you’re keeping hidden from me.”
