“What the hell is happening?” I bark, rushing over to her. King runs out of the room to get her dad, and Dom gently holds her. Grant storms into the room and then takes a deep breath.

“She’s okay. Give her a few minutes. She’s having a flashback.”

I know I should be freaking out about how she’s acting right now, but I’m silently praying that this is something about Mia.

“Are they always so violent?” King asks, and Grant shakes his head.

“No, usually she just zones out, but I think her memories are slowly returning, so it’s more painful. I know you want answers. We all do, but please don’t rush things. We have been to so many doctors and specialists, and they all say the same thing. She just needs time.” He looks at me while saying this, and I get the memo.

I nod, and he sighs. “I suggest you just get comfortable and put on a movie. She will be okay soon.

We do exactly that, and after twenty minutes, Gracie mutters my name, and I glance her way. “Hey, you okay?” I ask, gently moving her hair off her clammy forehead. She doesn’t pull away from me, but she gives me a weird look.

I back away and let one of the other guys look after her. It’s so hard to forget sometimes that she’s no longer mine.

Gracie

The guys stayed the night and half of Saturday too. My flashback last night was rough, and after trying to figure out the puzzle, we realized it was just about Ash and my date in the school maze.

He wouldn’t tell me much about what I had seen, but he was clearly upset. I had a raging migraine after, and we all cuddled up on my bed. Even Ash. I think I may have scared him a little.

The guys talked about the party tonight, and Dom ran his fingers through my hair. I must have fallen asleep because I woke up wrapped in Carter’s arms with Ash behind me.

He had a pillow between our bodies, but his arms were also wrapped tightly around me.

After escaping from my spot between the guys, I found Dom arguing with Gray about something in the kitchen and King outside on his phone. I left them alone and went out to the backyard. I hadn’t been in the pool in a long time, but it's put away for winter anyway.

Breakfast was a strained affair, and my mom never left her bedroom. My dad said she had a late night. I think she’s moved on from drinking solo at home to going out to bars.

Before the guys left, Dom and Gray started arguing again. I didn’t hear much, but it sounded like Gray’s keeping something from me, and it’s bad. I plan to ask Dom about it tonight. I’m hoping that since this is a party they may drink, and if something just so happens to slip out…

I jump in the shower and quickly wash, shampoo, and shave. The guys have been playing with me lately. Teasing and taunting, and I think now that Ash has accepted our relationship, they are ready to move on to the next step.

I know I sure as hell am. I quickly dry off and start braiding my hair. It took me a while to figure out what I wanted to dress as, but an Amazon package shoved in the corner of my closet showed that I had already purchased my costume before the accident.

I flip on the Youtube tutorial I found and start sectioning my hair. This would be so much easier if I had some help, but my person is currently buried in the local cemetery, and I don’t know where my mom is.

It takes me three hours to do my hair, and by the time it’s done, my arms are throbbing, and I’m ready for a nap. I decide to take a short break and look for a snack. Gray is in the kitchen sitting at the counter with his computer.

“Wow, that's a hairstyle,” he comments, and I roll my eyes.

“Does it look bad?” I self-consciously touch it, and he shakes his head.

“No, I like it. What are you going as anyway?” he asks, and I shrug.

“I think it’s a character from a show, but I’m not sure. Worse comes to worst, I’ll just say a Greek goddess.” I move to the fridge and make a quick cucumber and pimento cheese sandwich. Gray gags, and I laugh, shoving it closer to his face.

“God, Gracie, that stinks. Are you sure you’re not the pregnant one with the weird cravings? I thought Anna asking for pickles and peanut butter ice cream was bad.” I laugh with him and take a bite, groaning.

“How is Anna? Are you moving back home soon?” He closes his laptop and pushes his seat back.

“I really have to get this letter written. I’ll talk to you later, Gracie,” he mumbles, then practically runs from the kitchen. I sigh and shake my head. Why does he always avoid me?

My makeup doesn’t take very long, so I finish, then slip into my costume. I’m choosing to wear a hellacious push-up bra and dig out some old gladiator sandals. The white dress clings to my curves, and the cutouts on the sides under the breasts make me feel sexy.

I don’t know what the guys are dressing as; I told them to surprise me, but I hope they like this.

God, I am so nervous. After the pep rally yesterday, I never want to see my classmates again. I know the whole senior class will probably be there, and I’m trying not to panic. I move over to my bathroom and open the hidden cabinet behind the mirror.
