“I was going to wait to tell you, but since we’re discussing it now—”

My body tensed, and I cut her off. “Are you pregnant?”

That timid look I loved seeing formed on her face as she nodded and whispered, “Yes.”

“Hanna,” I rasped. “Are you serious?”

“Yes.”

My eyes roamed over her face, my emotions consuming me. “You’re going to be the best mom in the whole world.”

“And you’re going to be the best daddy. I know you’ll protect this baby the way someone should have protected me.”

She wasn’t wrong.

“I love you, Hanna.”

“I love you, Leo.”

I dropped my mouth to her, swept my tongue into her mouth, and hoped I was able to communicate just how much she meant to me and how happy she made me.

When I ran into her inside The Early Bird all those years ago, I never thought I’d wind up here. But the shy girl I’d met then had transformed into the most fun-loving, beautiful, and expressive woman. I couldn’t have asked for anyone better than her.

And as time went on, I continued getting new versions of her.

I couldn’t say for sure just yet, but one of the best came seven and a half months after we returned from our honeymoon, and Hanna became a mom to our little girl, Kyla.
