“I didn’t realize pandas ate meat,” I commented, mentally flitting through my wardrobe, figuring out what I would wear. I wanted to impress both of them.

“From time to time,” Sloan said. “Let me call and make a reservation. Do you mind getting Koby changed and ready?”

I shook my head. “Of course not.”

Justice picked up Koby. “No, I’ve got him. I know just the outfit.” Sloan had already gone upstairs. “Go on, Livvy. Go make yourself even more gorgeous.”

More gorgeous?

The last sentence was mumbled, but I heard it like a blast against my ears.

Justice might be quiet, but he was big, loud trouble nonetheless.

I decided on a tight-fitting sleeveless turtleneck bodysuit paired with a flowy teal skirt and heeled sandals. It was the dressiest thing I had, since the dress I had worn to the engagement party for Jason was left behind in my old closet.

I hoped someone would find it and either enjoy it or burn it. Didn’t matter to me either way.

Last minute, I decided to put on some light makeup and eyeliner to accentuate my green eyes. When I walked out, the boys were lined up, waiting for me.

All three of them wore button-down shirts, rolled at the sleeves. Koby and his daddies had nicely pressed slacks on with leather oxfords.

What a sight.

“Well, look at you three! I’ve never seen such handsome guys.” My eyes were on Koby, but I swore I saw a slight blush from Sloan and Justice.

“I fancy,” Koby said and did a little spin.

“You certainly are.”

We walked out together. Justice put Koby in his car seat, and Sloan opened the door for me. When I moved in front of him, he put his hand on my arm, stopping me. “Livvy, you look stunning tonight.”

I scoffed. “You don’t have to say that.”

He winked at me. My knees turned to jelly. “Not saying it would be a lie.”

Justice had called me gorgeous earlier, and now Sloan was telling me I was stunning.

They sure were laying it on thick for two people adamant about no romance.

Perhaps they were simply showing Koby how to be a good mate. Yeah, that was it.

At the restaurant, all of us were on edge. Koby sat next to me and not only gobbled up his tiny steak but took half of mine as well.

“I think he needs more meat,” I mentioned. “He needs protein to keep up with his special needs.”

It wasn’t like I could just say in the middle of a human restaurant, “Hey, he needs more protein because of all the shifting.”

Justice finished chewing before saying, “His mother wanted him to be a vegetarian. Pandas these days are. Sometimes we like meat, but it’s not necessary.”

I smiled but nodded.

“But, Justice, she didn’t know that he would be shifting this much. It’s twice or so a week now. Before, it was once a month. You might be right, Livvy.” Sloan stabbed the last bit of his steak and was clearly enjoying the savory rare meat.

“Huh. He wasn’t shifting a ton back then. I think you two are right. How about we try a couple of times a week and then see where he is,” Justice said. He agreed with me? Interesting.

“Everything okay? No panda trying to come out?” I whispered to Koby who was solely focused on the last few bites of steak I had cut up for him.

“He’s in there.” He poked at his tummy. “He’s sleeping. Shhh.”
