Lazaro pushes out a sigh. "Apologize, Marcello."

My brows slam together. "I fail to see why I should have to."

"You made a sexist remark." Lazaro isn’t messing around.

I pinch the bridge of my nose. "I beg your forgiveness for telling you to quit acting like a schoolgirl."

Lazaro ticks his head up. "Don't apologize to me. Say sorry to Nonna."

"Why?" I grunt.

"She’s the only one who’s been a schoolgirl," Lazaro explains. "And we went to boys' schools, so we didn’t even know any growing up. If anyone’s aware of how schoolgirls act, it’s her."

Nonna smirks. "Ahhhhh, all three of you went to boys' schools. That explainsa lot."

Santino glares at her. "I’d love to know what that’s supposed to mean."

"Don't play dumb." Nonna doesn’t mince words. "Everyone knows what you dirty boys get up to in dorm rooms."

Lazaro makes a gagging sound. "You can’t make those jokes."

She tousles Lazaro’s hair. "I wasn’t born yesterday.Hey, roomie—let’s play truth or dare. I’ve got something to show you."

My cheeks flush pink. "Have some tact."

Santino grins. "That takes me back."

I roll my eyes. "Jericho will be here any minute. We’ve got to plan our date."

Nonna blows us a farewell kiss. "I’ll be in the kitchen whipping up a fresh batch ofcornetti.Faro—that little bastard—stole my last batch."

My jaw drops. "He didn’t."

"He did," Nonna says.

"Why?" Lazaro demands.

Nonna’s eyes turn to slits. "You know how he’s always throwing himself at my next-door neighbor, Jako?"

My insides turn cold. "How could I forget?"

Ever since he was a boy, Faro’s had the biggest crush on Jako. Jako is a fifty-six-year-old ripped, tattooed silver fox with at least a billion in the bank. He rides a motorcycle and he’s helped us on a mission or two.

He was actually in prison with Medici for two years. He went in for bribing a public official. Guess how he got out?Bribing the judge.

Faro’s wanted Jako since he was old enough to want anyone. Now that Faro’s legal, he’s been gushing about Jako nonstop.

"Faro thinks that bringing Jako treat baskets will help convince him to give him a chance." Nonna makes a clucking sound. "However, he’s usingmytreats to do it. At this rate, he needs to pay me."

Lazaro pats Nonna’s back. "You’re helping two lost souls find love."

I make a retching noise. "Jako isthree decadesolder than Faro. How is this a good thing?"

"Uncle Romeo is four decades older than Dino," Santino drawls. "No one complains about that."

I glare at Santino. "We all complain about that."

"And Dino’s batshit crazy," Lazaro cackles. "If anyone can handle a relationship with Uncle Romeo—the Mafia Don—it’s him."
